Job summary

Saraswat Bank invites applications for a Junior Officer role based at Gujarat. The position involves clerical duties, marketing banking products, and counter duties to support branch operations.

You will perform Maker responsibilities for account opening, cash, deposits, demat/ lockers/ loans/ digital banking, and cross-sell of third‑party products while meeting targets and maintaining records.

Responsibilities

• Marketing: source leads and develop prospects and new clients to sell banking services and third‑party products as per assigned marketing targets.
• Operations: attend to customers at the branch for account opening and guide them through the systems and processes.
• Operations: facilitate branch banking transactions through physical interaction as well as digital intervention.
• Operations: enter transactions in the bank's software for branch banking and allied functions.
• Operations: maintain books and registers such as limit register, loan-related registers, notices and reminders for recovery of overdue, and extraction of interest certificates.
• Operations: work as Cashier and maintain registers such as torn and soiled notes, key exchange, etc.
• Operations: handle routine inward and outward clearing, including acceptance of local cheques, stamping, registering, and reconciliation of clearing cycles.
• Operations: perform any specific role related to front office, recovery, etc. as per business requirements.
• Any other work, as assigned by superiors within the ambit of grade.

Junior Officers are required to perform all duties which are of a clerical nature. They are required to canvass and sell the products of the Bank along with their counter duties. They are required to achieve the marketing targets assigned to them.

Role:-

Performs the role of Maker for transactions pertaining to Account Opening/ Clearing/ Cash/ Term Deposits/ Demat/ Lockers/ Loans/ Digital Banking/ Marketing of products.

To source leads and develop prospects and new clients to sell banking services and third-party products as per assigned marketing targets.

To contribute with the team in any campaign, drive or project of the Bank for achievement of business goals.

Operations :

• To attend to the customers at the branch for account opening and guide them through the systems and processes.
• To facilitate branch banking transactions of customers through physical interaction as well as digital intervention.
• To enter transactions in the software of the Bank for branch banking and allied functions.
• To maintain various books of accounts and registers such as limit register, hypothecation register (loan related), send notices and reminders for recovery of overdue, extraction of interest certificates, etc.
• To work as Cashier, carry out duties incidental to maintenance of books of accounts, registers, e.g. torn and soiled notes register, key exchange register, etc.
• To carry out the routine procedures in case of inward and outward clearing including acceptance of local cheques deposited for collection, affixing the necessary stamps, entering the particulars in the registers, to prepare patties, schedules etc. and ensure that every cheque received for collection goes to the next available clearing, tallying the outward and inward clearing, recording dispatch, lodgement as may be instructed by Branch Manager / Officer-in-charge of cheques returned unpaid.
