Job summary

Lifesight in Bengaluru/Bangalore is seeking a Junior Fullstack AI Engineer to design, develop, and deploy AI-powered products across the full stack. You will work on frontend interfaces, backend services, data pipelines, and AI orchestration to deliver scalable applications used at scale.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 1–3 years of production software experience.
• Experience building fullstack apps with React/Next.js and FastAPI (or similar).
• Experience using LLM APIs with RAG, embeddings, or vector databases.
• Experience designing and integrating REST APIs and backend services.
• Experience with relational or NoSQL databases.
• Understanding of data structures, algorithms, API design and system architecture.
• Experience deploying with cloud platforms; familiarity with Docker and CI/CD.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement end-to-end features across frontend, backend, and data layers

About the Role

We are seeking engineers to help build the next generation of AI-native products. As a Junior Fullstack AI Engineer, you will design, develop, and deploy production systems that integrate modern web technologies with large language models and intelligent agents.

You will operate across the entire stack from frontend interfaces to backend systems, data infrastructure, and AI orchestration contributing to products used at scale. This role requires strong engineering fundamentals, high ownership, and the ability to translate ambiguous problems into reliable, scalable systems. What You Will Do

Build Production-Quality Systems

• Design and implement end-to-end features across frontend, backend, and data layers
• Build scalable, performant web applications using modern frameworks
• Develop reliable APIs, services, and backend systems used in production

  Develop AI-Powered Applications

  • Integrate and deploy LLM-based features using providers such as OpenAI, Anthropic, or Gemini
  • Design prompts, system instructions, and structured outputs for reliability and correctness
  • Implement agent workflows, tool calling, and multi-step reasoning systems
  • Build retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipelines using embeddings and vector search
  • Build and maintain backend services, data pipelines, and integrations
  • Design database schemas and optimize queries for performance and scalability
  • Implement caching, asynchronous processing, and background job systems
  • Ensure system reliability, fault tolerance, and observability

  Collaborate with Teams

  • Work cross-functionally with product, design, and engineering teams
  • Participate in design reviews, code reviews, and technical discussions
  • Contribute to engineering standards, tooling, and architecture decisions
  • Continuously improve engineering velocity, reliability, and developer experience

  Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 1–3 years of experience building and shipping production software
  • Strong programming skills in at least one of:
  • Experience building fullstack applications using modern frameworks (React, Next.js,
  • FastAPI, or similar)
  • Experience building AI-powered applications using LLM APIs with retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), embeddings, or vector databases
  • Experience designing and integrating REST APIs and backend services
  • Experience working with relational or NoSQL databases
  • Understanding of software engineering fundamentals, including:
  • Data structures and algorithms
  • API design and system architecture
  • Strong debugging, problem-solving, and analytical skills
  • Experience deploying applications using cloud platforms and Familiarity with containerization (Docker) and CI/CD systems
