Role & Responsibilities

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Rotary Machine Technician to carry out hands‑on maintenance, installation, troubleshooting, and repair of critical rotating equipment. The role requires strong field expertise with a focus on ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of complex machinery across plant operations.

  • Execute complex mechanical overhauls, preventive maintenance (PM), and corrective maintenance (CM) of rotating equipment in compliance with safety, quality, and OEM standards.
  • Perform precision installation, field balancing, and alignment (including laser alignment) of machinery trains in line with engineering specifications.
  • Diagnose mechanical faults, analyze equipment failures, and support root cause analysis to recommend effective corrective and preventive actions.
  • Provide technical support during pre‑commissioning, start‑up, commissioning, and post‑maintenance trials of new or overhauled equipment.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of maintenance activities, repair findings, spare parts consumption, and equipment performance as per SOPs.
  • Ensure strict adherence to safety procedures, including permit‑to‑work systems and Lockout/Tagout/Tryout (LOTOTO), and applicable plant and industry standards.
  • Guide and support junior technicians and apprentices through on‑the‑job coaching and practical knowledge sharing.
Technical Expertise, Skills & Other Requirements
  • Hands‑on capability in disassembly, inspection, repair, and reassembly of industrial rotating equipment such as steam/gas turbines, centrifugal compressors, pumps, gearboxes, and associated auxiliary systems (lubrication, cooling, sealing).
  • Strong ability to read, interpret, and apply technical manuals, OEM documentation, engineering drawings, and equipment layouts.
  • Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments including micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, and specialized mechanical tools.
  • Sound understanding of machinery tolerances, fits, clearances, alignment, and field balancing principles.
  • Proven ability to diagnose mechanical faults, analyze equipment failures, and support root cause analysis with practical corrective actions.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with high attention to detail and problem‑solving capability.
  • Ability to work effectively in industrial environments, including confined spaces, elevated areas, varying temperatures, noise, and rotating machinery zones.
  • Clear communication skills and ability to guide junior technicians through on‑the‑job support and knowledge sharing.
  • Strong safety orientation with adherence to permit‑to‑work systems, LOTOTO procedures, and plant safety standards.
  • Certifications in alignment, rigging, or industrial safety will be an added advantage.
Education & Experience
  • Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized institute with more than 5 years of relevant experience
  • ITI (Mechanical) from a recognized institute with more than 8 years of relevant experience
  • Exposure to fertilizers, chemicals, power, oil & gas, or similar heavy process industries preferred
