Job summary

Solinas Integrity is seeking a JR Embedded Firmware Engineer to join IITM Research Park, Chennai. You will develop and debug firmware for STM32-based products, with a focus on BLDC motor control and sensor interfaces.

Responsibilities include implementing PWM, timers, interrupts, DMA, and applying PID/closed-loop concepts, plus testing, documentation, and source control. Collaboration with hardware teams and hands-on debugging using JTAG/SWD and test equipment are essential.

Qualifications

• Hands-on STM32 microcontroller experience.
• Experience with BLDC motor control and commutation methods.
• Experience with UART, I2C, SPI and sensor interfacing.
• Proficient in Embedded C; debugging with JTAG/SWD, oscilloscope.
• Familiarity with Git/GitLab and version control.

JOB DESCRIPTION - JR EMBEDDED FIRMWARE ENGINEER

Job Location: IITM Research Park, Taramani, Chennai

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, integrate, debug, and maintain embedded firmware for STM32-based products.
• Develop and implement BLDC motor-control firmware.
• Work with different motor-control topologies and commutation methods.
• Interface and integrate sensors and peripherals with the microcontroller. Perform unit-level testing, debugging, and firmware validation.
• Analyze and resolve hardwarefirmware integration issues.
• Support system-level testing, troubleshooting, and product validation.
• Maintain firmware documentation, test reports, and source-code version control.

Required Technical Knowledge

• STM32: Hands-on experience with STM32 microcontrollers, including timers, PWM, interrupts, ADC, GPIO, and DMA. Experience with STM32CubeIDE / STM32CubeMX is preferred.
• BLDC Motor Control: Understanding of BLDC/PMSM motor control, motor-control topologies, PWM generation, and speed/position feedback.
• Commutation Methods: Knowledge of Trapezoidal / Six-Step Commutation, Sinusoidal Control, and/or Field-Oriented Control (FOC).
• Control: Basic understanding of closed-loop control and PID control is preferred.
• Communication Protocols: Good working knowledge of UART, I2C, and SPI.
• Sensor Interface: Experience with ADC-based sensor interfacing and sensor data acquisition; ability to read and process analog sensor signals.

Additional Skills

• Good understanding of Embedded C programming.
• Knowledge of interrupts, timers, state machines, and real-time embedded systems.
• Familiarity with JTAG/SWD, oscilloscope, and logic analyzer for firmware debugging.
• Basic understanding of hardware schematics and datasheets. Experience with Git/GitLab or similar version-control systems.
• Good problem-solving and debugging skills.

Preferred Experience

• Hands-on experience with motor-control firmware.
• Experience with BLDC motor drivers or ESCs.
• Experience in hardware–firmware integration and testing.
• Exposure to industrial automation, robotics, or electromechanical systems is an advantage
