Job summary

Mettler-Toledo, Inc. in Mumbai seeks a data scientist to support Global Pricing, develop predictive analytics, and optimize commercial performance across products and regions.

You will work with data teams, build ML models, and mentor others while translating business challenges into data-driven solutions. The role involves cloud analytics exposure and dashboarding with BI tools within a renowned precision instruments leader.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; master's preferred.
• 1–3 years of experience in Data Science, Analytics, Pricing Analytics or related field.
• Experience with large structured and unstructured data using SQL, Python, R or similar tools.
• Strong Python and data science libraries (Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn).
• Knowledge of statistical analysis, predictive modeling and ML techniques.
• Experience with data prep, cleansing, transformation and feature engineering.
• Familiarity with NLP, Generative AI, DL or LLMs is a plus.
• Experience building dashboards using Power BI or Tableau.
• Understanding of pricing, sales and profitability analytics is preferred.
• Cloud analytics exposure (Azure, Databricks, Snowflake, AWS, GCP) is a plus.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; good stakeholder communication.

Our Opening and Your Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Support the Global Pricing team in their mandate to understand and optimize commercial performance across all products, services, and geographies
• Inventory, then assess, internal data practices and tools used by the group with the intention of improving: efficiency (doing more in less time), accuracy (higher confidence results), and flexibility (leverage existing data assets more fully to drive more business insights to internal stakeholders).
• Develop new, and optimize existing, predictive analytics and machine learning models.
• Interact with other data specialists across the company in different functions to harmonize best practices and gain access to larger pool of available data.
• Mentor and train members of Global Pricing in current 'state of the art' data practices and techniques.
• Be able, willing, and eager to show quantifiable results.
• Other duties may be assigned.

What You Need to Succeed

Education, Experience & Skills

• Bachelor's degree required (master's preferred) in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, Operations Research, or a related quantitative discipline.
• 1-3 years of experience in Data Science, Analytics, Pricing Analytics, Business Analytics, or a related field.
• Experience working with large structured and unstructured datasets using SQL, Python, R, or similar analytical tools.
• Strong proficiency in Python and common data science libraries (Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn).
• Knowledge of statistical analysis, predictive modeling, machine learning, and model evaluation techniques.
• Experience with data preparation, cleansing, transformation, and feature engineering.
• Familiarity with Natural Language Processing (NLP), Generative AI, Deep Learning, or Large Language Models is preferred.
• Experience building dashboards and visualizations using Power BI, Tableau, or similar tools.
• Understanding of pricing, sales, commercial performance, revenue management, or profitability analytics is preferred.
• Exposure to cloud analytics platforms such as Azure, Databricks, Snowflake, AWS, or GCP is a plus.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate business challenges into data-driven solutions.
• Business acumen with an understanding of how analytics and pricing decisions impact revenue, profitability, and customer outcomes.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills with the ability to present findings to both technical and business audiences
