Role Overview

We’re looking for a Junior Backend Developer to join our engineering team in Chennai. This role is open to freshers and early-career developers. No professional work experience is mandatory but you must be serious about backend development and willing to learn new technologies and grow fast. You’ll work closely with senior developers to build APIs, backend systems, and database structures that power our web and mobile applications.

What You’ll Do

• Build and maintain REST APIs used by web & mobile applications
• Write and manage database migrations (PostgreSQL)
• Design and implement backend business logic in Ruby on Rails
• Work with Redis for caching, queues, and performance improvements
• Debug production issues and improve system reliability
• Collaborate with frontend, mobile, and product teams
• Write clean, readable, and maintainable backend code
• Learn and work with our AWS infrastructure, Docker, Terraform, and Ansible

What We’re Looking For

• Strong interest and some experience in backend development
• Good understanding of REST APIs, databases, and backend architecture
• Familiarity with any backend framework (Rails, Django, Node.js, Spring, etc.)
• Willingness to learn Ruby on Rails, AWS, and DevOps tools
• Comfortable working with SQL databases
• Good problem-solving and debugging skills
• Ownership mindset. You care about what you build
• Work full-time from Chennai office

Nice to Have

• 6-12 months of experience working on backend projects (internships, freelance, or full-time)
• Experience building APIs
• Experience with PostgreSQL or MySQL
• Exposure to AWS or any cloud platform
• Experience with Ruby on Rails
• Basic understanding of Docker, Terraform or other devops tools
