Job summary

Tata Communications is seeking a Fresher CAD Engineer in Chennai to create, modify and maintain 2D/3D drawings for wireless telecom sites using AutoCAD. You will prepare structure details, antenna layouts, shelter plans and electrical schematics per client and SOP guidelines.

The role requires 0–1 year of design experience, a STEM degree (mechanical/civil/structural) and AutoCAD certification. Fresh graduates with keen attention to detail are invited to apply.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, civil or structural engineering required.
• AutoCAD with certifications mandatory.
• Fresher with 0–1 year experience desired; willing to learn and grow in telecom design.

Responsibilities

• Create, modify and maintain technical drawings and 3D models using AutoCAD (2D/3D).
• Prepare detailed drawings for telecom structures and buildings per operator standards.
• Follow SOPs to develop 2D/3D drawings and DWG formats.
• Study inputs from client to prepare structure, antenna, shelter, and lease area details.
• Produce site layouts, elevations, equipment room layouts and electrical schematics in AutoCAD.
• Collaborate with engineers to resolve design issues and prepare BOM and technical docs.

Job Description For CAD Engineer

Job Title: CAD Engineer (Fresher)

Job Summary: -

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Fresher CAD Engineer with 0 to 1 years of experience in design / Structural drawing using AutoCAD (2D/3D drawing & annotations) for wireless telecom sites. The candidate will be responsible for creating, modifying, and maintaining technical drawings and 3D models using CAD software.

Software skills: -

Mandatory: AutoCAD with certifications

Requirements & Responsibilities:

• Should possess AutoCAD knowledge (2D drafting / Annotations, 3D modeling, layers, blocks/dynamic blocks, Xrefs, dimensioning, and plotting).
• Adapt to different operator standards and prepare detailed drawing plans (preliminary, detailed design & Asbuilts) for telecom structures & buildings.
• Follow SOP to develop and maintain structural drawings, building drawings, and detailed 2D/3D models using AutoCAD in DWG formats.
• Study and analyze all inputs from client to prepare & include Structure information, Antenna details, Shelter information, Mount/strengthening structural drawing, Fabrication drawing, Lease area details and Technologies.
• Prepare plans of site access, Site layout, Antenna layout, Site elevation, Equipment Room/Cabinet Layout/elevation, Ancillaries configuration details and Electrical details as per client standards and design it in AutoCAD DWG format.
• Produce high-quality structural drawing for Tower/Monopole, Shelters/ODU's, Strengthening, Foundation Strengthening, Antenna/Dish/RRU Mount of wireless, telecom cell sites based on the design document, Survey information and Photos in AutoCAD DWG format.
• Preparation of dynamic CAD blocks as per specifications.
• Collaborate with engineers and project teams to resolve design-related issues.
• Prepare BOM (Bill of Materials) and technical documentation for production.
• Deliver documentation in DWG & PDF formats and maintain version control with proper documentation of all CAD files.
• Understand 2G/3G/4G & 5G concepts and interpret the RAN equipment’s from reports & photos.
• Preparation of cable schematics and electrical schematics from Antenna to BBU.
