Job summary

AECOM in India is seeking a Jr. Architect cum Construction Manager to lead architectural works and interior finishes on multidisciplinary airport projects. You will review GFC drawings, coordinate with contractors, and ensure compliance with DGCA, ICAO, NBC standards while integrating with structural, MEP, ICT and airport systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Architecture from a recognized university.
• Registration with the Council of Architecture (COA) preferred.
• Overall 5-10 years of professional experience in architectural construction supervision, fit-out works, faade systems, and project delivery.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in airport and aviation infrastructure projects is essential.
• Experience in supervision of architectural finishes, interior fit-outs, faades, passenger processing areas, commercial spaces, and related facilities.
• Experience working with PMC Consultants, EPC Contractors, Airport Operators, Consultants, or Client-side project teams.
• Experience in multidisciplinary interface coordination involving architectural, structural, MEP, ICT, and airport systems.
• Knowledge of DGCA, ICAO, NBC, Fire Life Safety Codes, Accessibility Standards, and applicable building regulations.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, BIM platforms, and MS Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Review GFC drawings, shop drawings, specifications, and submissions and identify constructability issues.
• Ensure work-front availability and support construction progress targets.
• Supervise architectural works, façades, interiors, finishes, signage, and passenger facilities.
• Monitor progress and identify delays, constraints, and resource shortages.
• Coordinate with contractors, consultants, airport stakeholders, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Manage interfaces among architectural, structural, MEP, ICT, and airport systems.
• Conduct site inspections, quality checks, and compliance assessments.
• Ensure compliance with materials, finishes, design intent, safety, and regulations.
• Resolve site issues and design clarifications with stakeholders.
• Prepare progress reports, inspection records, punch lists, and documentation.
• Monitor testing, commissioning, snagging, and handover activities.
• Verify as-built drawings, material records, warranties, and handover documents.
• Identify construction risks and implement mitigations.
• Support Sr. Architect in contractor management and project coordination.

Job Description

Position Overview

The Jr. Architect cum Construction Manager (Architectural Works, Interiors Finishes) shall report to the Sr. Architect cum Construction Manager and be responsible for ensuring work-front availability, achieving agreed construction progress targets, identifying and escalating delays, constraints, resource shortages, and interface-related bottlenecks, and supporting timely delivery of architectural works. The role involves progress monitoring, construction supervision, quality assurance, testing, commissioning, and handover of architectural works, interior fit-outs, faade systems, finishes, passenger-facing areas, and associated airport facilities.

The incumbent shall review GFC drawings and identify site-related discrepancies, review technical submissions, monitor construction progress and quality, coordinate with contractors, consultants, designers, and multidisciplinary stakeholders, and ensure that all works are executed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, project schedules, safety requirements, design intent, and applicable aviation standards. The role shall also ensure seamless integration of architectural works with structural, MEP, ICT, airport systems, and operational requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Review GFC drawings, specifications, shop drawings, material submittals, mock-ups, and technical submissions, and identify constructability issues and site-related discrepancies.
• Ensure work-front availability and support achievement of agreed construction progress targets.
• Supervise construction activities related to architectural works, faades, interior fit-outs, finishes, signage, and passenger-facing facilities.
• Monitor construction progress and proactively identify, elevate, and resolve delays, constraints, resource shortages, and interface issues.
• Coordinate with contractors, consultants, airport stakeholders, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure smooth execution of architectural works.
• Manage interfaces between architectural works, structural systems, MEP services, ICT, airport systems, and operational requirements.
• Conduct site inspections, quality checks, mock-up reviews, and compliance assessments.
• Ensure compliance with approved materials, finishes schedules, design intent, safety requirements, and statutory regulations.
• Resolve site issues, technical queries, and design clarifications in coordination with relevant stakeholders.
• Prepare progress reports, inspection records, punch lists, and technical documentation.
• Monitor testing, commissioning, snagging, defect rectification, and handover activities.
