The Firmwide Control Management mission is to solidify an effective control framework within and across the lines of business by identifying and remediating control issues with a sense of urgency, regardless of the source. The Firmwide Control Management team will work collaboratively with other control disciplines and will oversee existing control functions as well as the development of new control functions and protocols. This process will enable the firm to engage the appropriate teams in a timely manner and provide the ability to quickly remediate critical control issues across all the impacted areas of the firm.

The Controls Room, a critical component of the Firmwide Control Management organization, functions as a controls reporting and analytics utility for the Firm. Its mission is to provide meaningful management information that will facilitate decision making.

Job Summary

As the Vice President in the Meta Data Management team within Controls Room, you will be responsible to lead the Meta Data Management team within Controls Room, responsible for supporting the onboarding and maintenance of data related to the Firmwide Operational Risk platforms and related ecosystem. Role will require the individual to lead the team to gather, analyze, document, communicate and validate Business and Reporting metadata for all on boarded topics in line with the Basel 239 requirements.

Job Responsibilities
  • Govern the Meta Data Management process to ensure that all required activities are completed in a timely manner including BCBS submissions
  • Ensure metadata practices meet audit and regulatory requirements including BCBS 239
  • Collaborate with Data Governance team to support ingestion and reconciliation related activities as part of the Data Governance strategy
  • Ensure that Meta Data Management repository (RDHP) is integrated with overall Data Governance and Data quality framework
  • Evaluate and implement as applicable; the use of AI/ML within the Meta Data Management to bring in process efficiencies
  • In line with continuous improvement philosophy, ideate and solution the build of new features within MDM repository to evolve the system and enhance the end user experience
  • Provide scorecards, metrics, and management reports to stakeholders (e.g. senior management, line management, LOB/Functions) as necessary on the overall status of metadata management
  • Support reporting and analytical processes by providing metadata that helps in the accurate interpretation and analysis of operational risk data
  • Collaborate with Controls Room stakeholders globally to ensure consistency in practices for MDM
  • Manage the development of team for effective delivery and stakeholder management
  • Identify opportunities to automate metadata management process using tools of the future
Required qualifications, capabilities and skills
  • Master's degree in Management or bachelor's degree in Commerce/ Accounts or equivalent.
  • 14+ years of overall experience with 7-8 years of Data Management or related experience
  • Demonstrated understanding of Data Governance/Management framework, Data Quality & Data lineage
  • Understanding of Data structures, Data models, schemas, and taxonomies
  • Hands‑on experience with Meta Data/catalog tools (e.g., RDHP, Informatica EDC, Jade Catalog) along with Data Lake integration
  • Demonstrated understanding of Data Management activities such as business definition for data attributes and understand Business terms usage for reporting
  • Understanding of ETL processes and how data is transformed
  • Strong SQL skills along with knowledge of Database management platforms (e.g. Databricks)
  • Ability to use AI/ML tools and techniques for analyzing metadata patterns and trends
  • Intermediate knowledge on MS office suite
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills
