Job summary

Katcheri in Mumbai is seeking an Associate for its Energy, Infrastructure and Electricity Regulatory Practice. The role targets legal professionals with 1-3 years PQE and strong knowledge of electricity and corporate laws.

You will review PPAs and SHAs, file before electricity regulators and courts, and handle infrastructure contracts and M&A due diligence, with exposure to regulatory, litigation, and transactional work.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Reviewing Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) and Shareholders’ Agreements.

• Reviewing infrastructure contracts, including government tender documents, EPC Agreements, PPP Concession Agreements, and FIDIC contracts.
• Assisting in preparing due diligence reports for M&A transactions.

Economic Laws Practice (ELP) is hiring an Associate for its Energy, Infrastructure and Electricity Regulatory Practice at its Mumbai office. The role is suited for legal professionals with 1-3 years of PQE and strong current knowledge of electricity and corporate laws.

Key Responsibilities / Areas of Work

• Reviewing Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) and Shareholders’ Agreements
• Filing and appearing before electricity regulatory commissions, High Courts, and the Appellate Tribunal for Electricity (APTEL) in electricity law disputes
• Reviewing infrastructure contracts, including government tender documents, EPC Agreements, Public-Private Partnership Concession Agreements, and FIDIC contracts
• Assisting in preparing due diligence reports for M&A transactions

Eligibility & Preference

• 1-3 years of post-qualification experience (PQE)
• Strong and current knowledge of electricity and corporate laws
• Ability to work on regulatory, infrastructure, contractual, and transactional matters
