Job summary

IQVIA is seeking a Java Software Developer (backend) in India to design, implement, test, and document robust backend systems. You will build production-grade services using Spring, work with SQL databases, and develop RESTful APIs to deliver reliable, scalable solutions.

You will need strong Java coding skills, CI/CD experience, and familiarity with Docker/Kubernetes and ORM frameworks to optimize performance and support secure software delivery across teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science or related field.
• 8+ years of experience in systems analysis and application programming is typical.
• Strong programming and systems knowledge with Java-focused backend development.

Java Software Developer (backend)

Solves complex applications systems/programming problems considering computer

equipment capacity and limitations, operating time and form of desired results. Designs,

codes, tests, debugs, and documents those programs.

Essential Functions

• Plans, conducts, and coordinates the application of information system techniques to existing and future needs.
• Performs complex systems analysis and programming tasks requiring advanced techniques.
• Provides technical advice and consultation on di?icult analysis and programming problems.
• Participates in systems development and maintenance.
• Conducts analysis of complex data processing applications and prepares feasibility studies to evaluate user needs for new or revised systems.
• Coordinates the interfaces between major systems and programs.
• Activities include the conceptualization, development, and implementation of complex program designs.
• Often responsible for achieving operational status within required time parameters and within acceptable operating performance.
• Defines system objectives and prepares systems design specifications to meet user requirements and satisfy interface problems.
• Investigates available hardware and software configurations and capabilities; recommends optimal system to meet applications justification of data processing systems.
• Present recommendations to management.
• Prepares and conducts comprehensive system and programming tests.
• Debugs malfunctions and modifies programs accordingly.
• May identify and implement root cause fixes to program, system and/or applications errors.
• Recommends system software modifications or changes to hardware configurations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree Computer Science or related discipline, or knowledge acquired through equivalent experience
• Eight (3-5) years’ experience in systems analysis/application programming
• As an alternative to the experience requirements listed above, possesses a minimum of three (3) years of related experience in Information Technology with a specific Technology Experience Ratio of 75% or higher (years of experience in the specific technology / years the technology has existed).
• Significant programming and systems knowledge.
