Goldman Sachs in Bengaluru is seeking a Java Fullstack Developer to join the Privacy Platform team. The role focuses on designing and implementing a strategic privacy platform used across the Firm to support data discovery, classification, workflows, and regulatory deadlines.

You will collaborate on firmwide projects with GPO, apply agile practices, and contribute to architecture of multi-tier, service-oriented platforms using modern tech like RESTful APIs and containers.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of Java development experience with GitLab.
• At least 2 years of service oriented architecture development experience.
• Experience with automated testing and code coverage frameworks.
• Familiarity with containers (Docker/Kubernetes).
• Experience in working on development projects with teams of 3–5 developers.
• Independent thinker with strong communication skills.
• Experience with debugging, troubleshooting, and code optimization.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement a strategic Privacy platform used across the Firm.
• Assess market offerings and recommend build vs buy for privacy toolset including data discovery, classification, workflows.
• Apply agile practices with users, continuous test and deploy, and effective estimation and planning.
• Drive delivery of significant new capabilities across the Firm and enable data-driven solutions.
• Contribute to architecture for multi-tier, service-oriented platforms and liaise with stakeholders.

HOW YOU WILL FULFILL YOUR POTENTIAL

We are seeking a Software Engineer with excellent software engineering skills within the Privacy Platform team.

The role creates the opportunity for an individual to work on multiple Firmwide projects alongside GPO to deliver on our privacy strategy and respond to critical regulatory deadlines.

Role will include:

• You will be part of the Privacy Platform team, designing and implementing a strategic Privacy platform consisting of applications used across the Firm to support our global privacy strategy and to meet critical regulatory deadlines.


• You will assess current market offerings and recommend a build or buy approach for the continued build out of our privacy toolset supporting data discovery, classification, workflows and metrics.


• You will use agile practices – working closely with our users, continuous test and deploy, estimating and managing work.


• You will be running projects to deliver significant new capabilities across the Firm, driving discovery and use of data.


• You’ll have impact across the firm as Privacy Platform will define & rollout procedures and solutions covering topics such as privacy data classification, data discovery and retention and destruction of data.


• You’ll gain experience and knowledge of Privacy Data Engineering, Enterprise Data Management and Technology Risk management.


• You will add to your architecture portfolio, designing and building multi-tier, service oriented platforms.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE WE'RE LOOKING FOR

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• At least 3 years of Java development experience and GitLab


• At least 2 years of service oriented architecture development experience


• Automated testing and code coverage frameworks


• Familiarity with containers (Docker/Kubernetes)

• Appreciates and delivers clear, well tested code


• Excellent communications skills and the ability to work with subject matter expert to extract critical business concepts

PREFERRED Experience

• Graph database development and graph design (e.g. Neo4J, OrientDB)


• Knowledge of Web UI technologies (React)


• Web services development: RESTful APIs; Swagger; Jersey


• Thorough knowledge and experience in all phases of SDLC


• Strong database skills/ Experience with object/non-relational databases (MongoDB, Apache Cassandra, Elastic)


• Experience with the Big Data ecosystem (HDFS, Spark, Flink)


• Proficient in a Unix/Linux environment.

Bachelor’s degree / Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field
