Job summary

TekWissen India in Bangalore is seeking a Senior Java Fullstack Engineer to support Java/Spring Boot and Python applications. The candidate will work on data quality checks, SQL data extraction, and cloud services in a hybrid setup.

Collaboration with India and US teams is expected, with emphasis on strong core skills in Java, Python and SQL. The role requires independence, ownership of tasks, quick learning, and comfort with modern tools and CI/CD practices.

Job Description

Overview

• Looking for a Senior Individual Contributor in the 6–9 years’ experience range.
• The candidate should be able to work independently, take ownership of assigned tasks, learn the application landscape quickly, and become productive with minimal ramp‑up.
• The role will support both Java/Spring Boot and Python applications, with the opportunity to work across both areas depending on quarterly priorities.
• The team currently has 7 members in India, with additional team members based in the US.

Must-Have Skills

Java + Spring Boot

• Strong hands‑on experience in Java and Spring Boot is mandatory.
• The candidate should be capable of independently developing and enhancing applications using Spring Boot.

Python – Application Development

• Strong hands‑on experience in Python application development is mandatory.
• The candidate should have practical development experience rather than only scripting/automation exposure.

SQL / Database

• Good understanding of database concepts and intermediate‑level SQL writing skills is mandatory.
• The candidate should be comfortable extracting and processing data from databases.
• PostgreSQL/Snowflake experience is preferred, but equivalent database experience can be considered.
• Screening Guidance: The client emphasized that these three skills—Java/Spring Boot, Python, and SQL—should be treated as the primary screening criteria. Profiles should ideally demonstrate strong proficiency in these areas before submission.

Cloud – Preferred

• Cloud knowledge is expected, but the client is open to any major cloud platform.
• AWS is preferred, particularly exposure to services such as S3, SNS, SQS and IAM.
• If a candidate does not have hands‑on AWS experience but has a good understanding of another cloud platform or strong theoretical AWS knowledge, the profile can still be considered, provided the three core skills above are strong.

Project Context / Application Landscape

• The team is part of the Data & Analytics product area supporting digital asset/crypto‑related capabilities.
• The candidate will work primarily across two application areas:
• Java/Spring Boot application: Existing applications used for transferring data between systems for use cases such as reconciliation and statement generation.
• Python application: A newer application focused on performing data quality checks. This has a longer‑term roadmap and is expected to see continued enhancements.
• The resource may therefore work on either application depending on business priorities and quarterly requirements.

CI/CD & Deployment

• Experience with Jenkins/CI‑CD pipelines is preferred.
• The candidate should understand how deployment pipelines work and be able to perform high‑level troubleshooting/debugging when a build or deployment fails.
• They are not expected to fix or maintain the pipelines, as this is handled by a separate team.

Testing

• Experience with unit and integration testing is expected.
• JUnit and PyTest are the relevant testing frameworks.

Angular – Good to Have

• Angular is not mandatory.
• Exposure to Angular/UI development would be an added advantage, particularly for the newer Python application.
• Candidates without Angular experience can still be considered.

Team & Work Location

• India team: 7 members currently, with approximately 8 additional team members in the US supporting these applications.
• The candidate will primarily collaborate with the India team but will also interact with US‑based team members, including architects.
• Some overlap with US working hours may be required, particularly during releases or critical activities.
• Bangalore – EGL is the preferred office location.

Profile Flexibility

• The client acknowledged that finding a 100% match may be challenging and is open to considering candidates who are approximately 70–80% aligned, provided the core technical foundation is strong and the candidate demonstrates the potential to learn/upskill.
• However, for initial sourcing and internal screening, please ensure that profiles demonstrate strong capability in the three core areas:
• Java/Spring Boot + Python Application Development + SQL/Database.
• Other skills such as AWS, Jenkins, JUnit/PyTest and Angular can be evaluated as additional strengths and potential areas for upskilling.
