Job summary

Weekday 1 is seeking a Senior Full-Stack Product Software Engineer to design, build, and support scalable products and mission-critical systems in Bengaluru. You will own both backend services and frontend interfaces, leveraging Java, Spring Boot, and React.js within a microservices framework.

The ideal candidate has 6+ years of experience, strong expertise in relational databases like MySQL/PostgreSQL, and experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, and AWS.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of hands-on software engineering experience in full-stack or product engineering environments.
• Strong proficiency in Java and Spring Boot, including ORM technologies.
• Proven experience with React.js or modern JavaScript frameworks.
• Solid understanding of microservices, RESTful APIs, distributed systems, and loosely coupled architectures.
• Strong experience with relational databases such as MySQL and PostgreSQL, including schema design and query optimization.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, deploy, and support scalable microservices and user interfaces using Java and modern frontend technologies.
• Build reliable backend services using Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and microservice architectures.
• Develop responsive frontend applications using React.js or other modern JavaScript frameworks.
• Translate product requirements and user stories into actionable technical solutions.
• Own features throughout the complete lifecycle from design to deployment and production support.
• Design efficient database schemas and queries for MySQL and PostgreSQL.
• Apply principles of loose coupling, scalability, and maintainability for distributed systems.
• Collaborate with Product, UX, Engineering, and stakeholders to deliver user-focused experiences.
• Participate in architecture discussions and contribute to engineering decisions.
• Mentor engineers through code reviews, documentation, knowledge sharing, and guidance.
• Define and implement metrics to measure system health and engineering risks.
• Improve observability through metrics, logging, tracing, and alerting.
• Troubleshoot production issues and perform root-cause analysis.
