Job summary

Ascendion is seeking a Software Engineer in Bengaluru to join our AI-powered software engineering team. You will develop and maintain Java-based microservices, build RESTful APIs, and collaborate with frontend engineers using Angular to deliver scalable software solutions.

The role emphasizes strong debugging skills, code reviews, and best practices for software delivery, with exposure to Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with Java (Spring Boot) and Angular.
• Strong understanding of REST APIs and microservices.
• Proficient in SQL and query optimization; familiar with CI/CD.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms (Azure, AWS or similar).

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain scalable Java-based services and REST APIs.
• Design and implement microservices and ensure robust integration.
• Collaborate with frontend teams to deliver cohesive user experiences.
• Identify and resolve complex performance and reliability issues; participate in code reviews.

About the Role

• Strong hands‑on experience in Java (Spring Boot) and Angular
• Experience building and consuming REST APIs
• Good understanding of Microservices Architecture
• Strong SQL skills with experience in query optimization
• Experience with GitHub Actions or other CI/CD tools
• Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes is a plus
• Exposure to Azure, AWS, or other Cloud platforms is a plus
• Strong understanding of code reviews, code coverage, and software development best practices
• Experience troubleshooting and resolving complex application issues
• Good verbal and written communication skills
