Job summary

Citi is seeking an Applications Development Technology Lead Analyst in India to drive full-stack development using Microservices, Angular, React, Java and NoSQL databases. You will lead architectural design, performance tuning, and data management while guiding mid-level developers and ensuring regulatory compliance.

The role focuses on delivering scalable solutions, advancing CI/CD practices, and integrating AI capabilities for document processing.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of relevant experience in Apps Development and systems analysis.

Responsibilities

• Partner with management to plan system enhancements for new products and processes.
• Design, develop, maintain, and optimize relational and non-relational databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
• Oversee database administration, data modeling, HA/DR setups, backups, and migrations.
• Apply awareness of AI integration, especially with LLMs for document processing and extraction.
• Resolve complex business process issues through analysis of systems and industry standards.
• Provide expert guidance on application design aligned to architecture blueprints.
• Develop coding, testing, debugging, and deployment standards.
• Understand how architecture and infrastructure integrate to meet goals.
• Deliver in-depth analyses and innovative solutions; coach junior staff.

The Applications Development Technology Lead Analyst is a senior level position responsible for establishing and implementing new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology team. The overall objective of this role is to lead applications systems analysis and design, database engineering and full stack development experience using Microservices, Angular, React, Java, MongoDB, Kafka, Oracle, SQL, REST, Spring Boot, Elastic Search

Responsibilities:

• Partner with multiple management teams to ensure appropriate integration of functions to meet goals as well as identify and define necessary system enhancements to deploy new products and process improvements
• Design, develop, maintain, and optimize relational and non-relational database architectures (e.g., Oracle, PostgreSQL, MongoDB), including schema design, performance tuning, indexing strategies, and query optimization.
• Manage database administration activities, data modeling, high availability/disaster recovery setups, backup and recovery strategies, and data migration pipelines.
• Solid knowledge and understanding of how AI integration works, particularly with LLMs for document processing and data extraction.
• Resolve variety of high impact problems/projects through in-depth evaluation of complex business processes, system processes, and industry standards
• Provide expertise in area and advanced knowledge of applications programming and ensure application design adheres to the overall architecture blueprint
• Utilize advanced knowledge of system flow and develop standards for coding, testing, debugging, and implementation
• Develop comprehensive knowledge of how areas of business, such as architecture and infrastructure, integrate to accomplish business goals
• Provide in-depth analysis with interpretive thinking to define issues and develop innovative solutions
• Serve as advisor or coach to mid-level developers and analysts, allocating work as necessary
• Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm’s reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
• Provide technical leadership for an agile development team, championing best practices in Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD). Foster a culture of quality through developer-led automated testing initiatives. Drive continuous improvement in SDLC, agile and DevOps processes using key performance indicators, including DORA metrics, to enhance team efficiency and software delivery.

Qualifications:

• 15 + years of relevant experience in Apps Development and systems analysis role
• Strong, hands-on experience in Database Administration (DBA) and Database Engineering across relational (e.g., Oracle, PostgreSQL, MS SQL) and NoSQL (e.g., MongoDB) platforms.
• In-depth expertise in SQL/PL-SQL, database schema design, indexing, partitioning, query optimization, and performance tuning.
• Proven experience in database backup & recovery, high availability (HA), replication, data security, and capacity planning.
• Extensive experience system analysis and in programming of software applications
• Experience in managing and implementing successful projects
• Proven implementation of design pattern and enterprise level architecture.
• Subject Matter Expert (SME) in at least one area of Applications Development.
• Java & Test-Driven Development are essential.
• Great exposure to microservices architecture, API gateway.
• Ability to adjust priorities quickly as circumstances dictate
• Demonstrated leadership and project management skills
• Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication
• Able to work independently and as part of a team
• Able to multi-task and prioritize tasks effectively.
• UI tech stack knowledge will be advantage.

Skills Required

Must have expert level (hands-on) knowledge and understanding in Angular, React , JAVA/J2EE spring boot, spring framework stack

• Must have Deep understanding of Microservice and Microservices best practices, patterns- Spring boot microservices is highly preferred
• Must have Hands-on Oracle / NoSQL (MongoDB) knowledge / experience
• Must have experience in SCMs like GIT ; and tools like JIRA
• Good understanding of Kafka is highly desirable
• Agile/Scrum methodology experience is required.
• Strong systems analysis, design and architecture fundamentals, Unit Testing and other SDLC activities
• Ability to contribute in high- and low-level system design (Sequence diagram, class diagrams)
• Strong communication skills, should be able to communicate effectively with business and other stakeholders

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience
• Master’s degree preferred
