Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a seasoned engineer to design and build enterprise applications using Java, Spring Boot, and Angular. You will lead modernization efforts, implement scalable microservices, and drive best practices across the SDLC while mentoring junior engineers.

You will collaborate with Product Owners, QA, and DevOps to ensure robust, high-performance systems. The role requires strong problem-solving skills and a focus on reducing technical debt through automation and refactoring.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise apps with Java, Spring Boot, and Angular.
• Build scalable REST APIs, microservices, and reusable frameworks.
• Lead modernization: Java/Spring/Angular upgrades and third-party library refreshes.
• Remediate vulnerabilities and fix code from scans, analyses, and reviews.
• Rotate secrets, tokens, certificates, and passwords at application level.
• Reduce technical debt via refactoring and code improvements.
• Develop automation to replace manual operations and processes.
• Review code, enforce standards, patterns, and best practices.
• Troubleshoot production issues and perform root cause analysis.
• Improve performance, scalability, reliability, and maintainability of systems.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, Architects, QA, and DevOps through SDLC.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to architecture discussions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise applications using Java, Spring Boot, and Angular.
• Build scalable REST APIs, microservices, and reusable application frameworks.
• Lead application modernization initiatives, including Java version upgrades, Spring Boot upgrades, Angular upgrades, and third-party library modernization.
• Perform vulnerability remediation and code fixes identified through code scans, dependency analysis, SonarQube findings, and engineering reviews.
• Implement application-level secret, token, certificate, and password rotation changes.
• Reduce technical debt through refactoring and continuous code improvements.
• Develop automation solutions to eliminate manual operational and business processes.
• Review code and enforce engineering standards, design patterns, and best practices.
• Troubleshoot production issues and perform root cause analysis (RCA).
• Improve system performance, scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, Architects, QA, and DevOps teams throughout the SDLC.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical leadership and architecture discussions.
