Job summary

Citigroup Inc. is seeking an Applications Development Intermediate Programmer Analyst to contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of server-side Java applications and responsive front-end interfaces using Angular or React.js.

You will collaborate with product managers and designers, write clean code, and ensure robust testing and API integration in a fast-paced financial services environment.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with product managers, UX/UI designers, and other developers to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Write clean, maintainable code and integrate front-end and back-end components via RESTful APIs.
• Implement and maintain tests; participate in code reviews; troubleshoot and upgrade systems.
• Exercise independent judgment; act as SME to stakeholders; ensure risk and compliance considerations.

Job description

The Applications Development Intermediate Programmer Analyst is an intermediate level position responsible for participation in the establishment and implementation of new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology team. The overall objective of this role is to contribute to applications systems analysis and programming activities.

• Utilize knowledge of applications development procedures and concepts, and basic knowledge of other technical areas to identify and define necessary system enhancements, including using script tools and analyzing/interpreting code
• Consult with users, clients, and other technology groups on issues, and recommend programming solutions, install, and support customer exposure systems
• Apply fundamental knowledge of programming languages for design specifications.
• Analyze applications to identify vulnerabilities and security issues, as well as conduct testing and debugging
• Serve as advisor or coach to new or lower level analysts
• Identify problems, analyze information, and make evaluative judgements to recommend and implement solutions
• Resolve issues by identifying and selecting solutions through the applications of acquired technical experience and guided by precedents
• Has the ability to operate with a limited level of direct supervision.
• Can exercise independence of judgement and autonomy.
• Acts as SME to senior stakeholders and /or other team members.
• Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
• Design, develop, and maintain server-side applications using Java and related frameworks (e.g., Spring Boot).
• Develop responsive and intuitive user interfaces using either Angular or React.js.
• Collaborate with product managers, UX/UI designers, and other developers to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code following best practices and coding standards.
• Integrate front-end and back-end components through RESTful APIs.
• Implement and maintain unit, integration, and end-to-end tests to ensure high-quality software.
• Participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback and ensuring code quality.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing systems.

Required Skills:

• Back-End:Strong proficiency in Java, including experience with frameworks such as Spring Boot.
• Front-End:Demonstrated expertise in either Angular or React.js (or both), including state management libraries (e.g., Redux, NgRx) and modern JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, and CSS3.
• API Development:Experience in designing and implementing RESTful APIs.
• Databases:Proficiency with relational databases (SQL) and/or NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB).
• Tools & Technologies:Experience with Git, Maven/Gradle, Docker, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Problem Solving:Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail.
• Communication:Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate within a team.
• Experience in using Agentic AI like Devin will be an added advantage.
