Job Summary

Synechron is seeking a Java Developer to design, develop, and maintain high-performance enterprise applications. This role will enhance application platforms, integrate backend services, and support system stability, scalability, and data quality. The successful candidate will contribute across the software development lifecycle, develop RESTful APIs and SOAP services, manage Oracle and MongoDB data environments, and support CI/CD and agile delivery practices. The role will also apply AI-powered development tools and automation to improve data pipelines, ETL processes, and engineering efficiency.

Software Requirements

• Required Java: 7+ years of professional Java development experience; project-approved Java version to be used.
• REST APIs and SOAP services: Professional experience designing, developing, integrating, and supporting services.
• Oracle: Strong experience with SQL and PL/SQL; version aligned with the assigned project environment.
• MongoDB: Experience with data storage and retrieval; version aligned with the assigned project environment.
• Unix/Linux: Strong experience working in Unix/Linux environments.
• Maven and Gradle: Experience managing builds, dependencies, and project configuration.
• Git and GHE: Experience with source control, branching, code reviews, and repository workflows.
• Tibco EMS: Familiarity with enterprise messaging and service integration.
• AI development tools: Proficient use of AI development tools such as Devin and GitHub Copilot.
• AI-powered data automation: Experience applying AI-powered automation to data pipelines and ETL processes.

Overall Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain Java-based enterprise applications.
• Develop and integrate RESTful APIs and SOAP services to support backend connectivity and business processes.
• Manage data storage and retrieval using Oracle SQL/PL/SQL and MongoDB.
• Build, enhance, and support AI-powered automation for data pipelines and ETL processes.
• Use AI development tools, including Devin and GitHub Copilot, in accordance with Synechron engineering, security, and quality standards.
• Troubleshoot application, integration, database, and data-pipeline issues and implement sustainable resolutions.
• Analyze and optimize application, service, database, and pipeline performance.
• Validate data quality, integrity, completeness, and consistency across relevant workflows.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, release processes, and deployment improvements.
• Participate in agile planning, estimation, refinement, reviews, retrospectives, and delivery activities.
• Collaborate with engineering, quality assurance, data, architecture, operations, and other project stakeholders.
• Document technical designs, implementation decisions, operational procedures, and support requirements.
• Deliver maintainable, scalable, and resource-efficient solutions that support business objectives and sustainability considerations, including appropriate use of compute, storage, and processing resources.

Experience Requirements

7+ years of professional experience in Java development. Demonstrated experience developing and maintaining enterprise applications, REST APIs, SOAP services, and backend integrations. Strong experience with Oracle SQL/PL/SQL, Unix/Linux environments, Maven, Gradle, Git, and GHE. Experience with MongoDB, Tibco EMS, CI/CD practices, agile delivery, and AI-powered automation for data pipelines or ETL processes. Preferred Experience supporting high-performance, scalable platforms and resolving production or integration issues. Preferred Experience in financial services, banking, insurance, technology, or other regulated enterprise environments. Candidates may also qualify through an equivalent combination of relevant professional experience, demonstrable technical skills, formal training, certifications, and successful delivery of comparable enterprise Java solutions.

Day-to-Day Activities

• Develop, test, review, and maintain Java applications, RESTful APIs, SOAP services, database components, and backend integrations.
• Investigate defects and performance issues, use Unix/Linux tools and logs to identify causes, and implement validated fixes.
• Participate in agile ceremonies, technical discussions, code reviews, and collaboration with engineering, quality, data, architecture, and operations teams.
• Deliver assigned features, automation, documentation, and deployment changes while making informed technical decisions within project standards and escalating material risks when required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field is required; an equivalent combination of relevant education, training, and professional experience may be considered.
• 7+ years of professional Java development experience, including enterprise application delivery.
• Demonstrated experience with REST APIs, Oracle SQL/PL/SQL, Unix/Linux, MongoDB, and backend service integration.
• Experience with Tibco EMS, Maven, Gradle, Git, GHE, CI/CD practices, agile methodologies, and AI-powered data-pipeline automation is required.
• Relevant technical certifications are preferred but not required; ongoing training and professional development in Java, AI development tools, data engineering, security, and delivery practices are expected.
