Job summary

The Equity Finance Technology team at Citi in Pune is seeking a seasoned Java developer to contribute to the Post Trade platform. You will work with technologists across locations to deliver business solutions in an agile environment.

Responsibilities include coding, review, and solving complex problems, while aligning with architecture and risk controls. The role emphasizes collaboration across time zones and a strong focus on quality.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Apps Development or systems analysis.
• Experience in system analysis and in programming of software applications.
• Experience in managing and implementing successful projects.
• Exposure to AI solutions to accelerate development.
• Subject Matter Expert (SME) in at least one area of Applications Development.
• Ability to adjust priorities quickly as circumstances dictate; flexible with a global team across geographies/time zones.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies.

• Engineer the capabilities for the Trading platform as per the book of work.
• Code review of development conducted by others.
• Resolve a variety of high impact problems/projects through evaluation of complex business processes, system processes, and industry standards.
• Provide expertise in area and advanced knowledge of applications programming and ensure application design adheres to the overall architecture blueprint.
• Utilise advanced knowledge of system flow and develop standards for coding, testing, debugging, and implementation.
• Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citi, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgement regarding personal behaviour, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

Technical Skills

• Extensive development experience
• Technical expertise in Java, Kafka, SQL, Git and JMS is a must have.
• Fluency in modern CI/CD pipeline and cloud environment
• Experience in performing QA, TDD and BDD practices
• Proven ability to work in high pressure environment
• Flexibility to work with a global team, across geographies and time zones
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think strategically
• Familiarity with agile methodologies

Any Beneficial / Nice to Have Skills and Experiences

• Knowledge of Equity Finance / Securities Lending is a plus
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
