Job summary

Sasken Technologies is hiring a Java-focused developer to design, build, and maintain robust Java applications in a hybrid work setup in Bangalore. The role emphasizes RESTful API design, Spring-based architecture, and strong database and test practices.

You will contribute across the development lifecycle, implement scalable microservices, and participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies. The ideal candidate brings solid Java expertise, cloud awareness, and experience with CI/CD pipelines.

Qualifications

• Java 8 or higher with OOP, concurrency, streams, and lambdas.
• Spring ecosystem experience with Spring Boot, MVC, Security, Data.
• Relational DBs: MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle; NoSQL like MongoDB/Redis a plus.
• Build tools Maven or Gradle and Git for version control.
• Microservices, Docker/Kubernetes, and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• CI/CD basics with Jenkins, GitLab CI or GitHub Actions.

Responsibilities

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

• Software Development: Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable Java code.
• Architecture & Design: Contribute to all phases of the development lifecycle, writing well-designed, testable, and efficient code.
• API Management: Design and implement high-performance, secure RESTful Web Services / APIs.
• Database Optimization: Write complex SQL queries, optimize database schemas, and ensure seamless data persistence.
• Testing & Quality: Write unit and integration tests using frameworks like JUnit or TestNG to ensure code quality.
• Troubleshooting: Debug and resolve production issues, performance bottlenecks, and system vulnerabilities.
• Collaboration: Actively participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, code reviews, and technical sprint planning.

Technical Requirements

• Core Java: Strong expertise in Java 8 or higher (OOP concepts, Collections, Concurrency/Multithreading, Streams, and Lambda expressions).
• Frameworks: Hands-on experience with the Spring Ecosystem (Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Security, Spring Data).
• Databases: Solid understanding of Relational Databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Oracle). Experience with NoSQL (MongoDB, Redis) is a plus.
• Build & Tools: Experience with build automation tools like Maven or Gradle, and version control using Git.
• Microservices: Exposure to microservices architecture, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) is highly preferred.
• CI/CD: Basic understanding of continuous integration and deployment pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions).

Soft Skills & Qualifications

• Education: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
