Job summary

Ascendion Engineering in Bengaluru seeks an experienced Java backend engineer to design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise-grade applications using Java and Spring Boot. You will migrate legacy C++ services to modern Java microservices and build robust REST APIs to integrate with internal and external systems.

The role requires 3–5 years of hands-on development, strong OO design, and experience with MySQL/PostgreSQL, Git, and modern DevOps practices.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of hands-on software development experience.
• Strong proficiency in Core Java (Java 11/17 or higher).
• Solid experience in Spring Boot and the Spring ecosystem.
• Experience developing and consuming REST APIs.
• Strong understanding of object-oriented design principles and design patterns.
• Experience with relational databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or similar.
• Working knowledge of version control systems such as Git.
• Familiarity with software development best practices, including code reviews, unit testing, and debugging.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Experience with container technologies such as Docker and orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes.

• Exposure to microservices architecture and distributed systems.


• Familiarity with messaging technologies, event-driven architectures, or middleware platforms.


• Prior experience working on application modernization or technology migration projects.
