Job summary

InRhythm is seeking a Java Engineer (L2) to join our engineering practice in Vadodara, India. You will participate in a modernization initiative, transforming legacy monolithic applications into a microservices-based ecosystem.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design secure, scalable solutions for high-throughput payment environments. Proficiency with Java, Spring Boot, Kafka, NiFi, and Oracle Database is required to deliver resilient enterprise applications.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of professional software engineering experience with Java (8 or higher).
• Strong hands-on experience with Spring Boot and the Spring ecosystem.
• Strong understanding of Microservices architecture and inter-service communication patterns.
• Hands-on experience with Apache Kafka and event-driven architectures.
• Experience with Kafka integrations, custom wrappers, or complex implementations is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of Oracle Database and transactional systems.
• Exposure to Apache NiFi or similar data migration/integration tools is an added advantage.

Key Responsibilities

Modernization & Transformation

• Drive the transition from legacy monolithic systems to modern, scalable, and highly available microservices architectures.
• Contribute to architecture modernization initiatives and platform improvements.

Design & Development

• Design, develop, and deploy robust Java-based applications using Spring Boot.
• Build production-ready applications following best practices and scalable design patterns.

Real-Time Data Streaming

• Develop high-throughput, real-time data pipelines using Apache Kafka.
• Work on Kafka integrations, custom wrappers, monitoring, and performance improvements.

Cloud Deployment

• Deploy and manage applications across private and hybrid cloud environments.
• Ensure security, scalability, compliance, and reliability for financial systems.

Database & Migration Strategy

• Work with Oracle Database for high-volume transactional systems.
• Write complex SQL queries and ensure database performance and security.
• Collaborate with data teams on migration activities from legacy systems to modern Oracle platforms using Apache NiFi.

Engineering Excellence

• Analyze and resolve system bottlenecks to improve performance and availability.
• Follow coding best practices, maintain technical documentation, and ensure high-quality delivery.

Agile Collaboration

• Collaborate with Product, QA, and Operations teams in an Agile environment.
• Participate in design discussions, testing, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Skills & Experience

Core Technical Expertise
