Job summary

Citi is seeking a senior Applications Development Technology Lead Analyst in Chennai to drive architecture, development, and delivery of enterprise-grade applications. You will collaborate with Product Owners and stakeholders to translate strategic goals into robust, scalable systems and provide hands-on leadership across multiple teams.

The role requires deep expertise in Java Spring, React, Oracle, CI/CD, and strong SQL skills, with experience in process governance and BPMN.

Qualifications

• Minimum 12+ years of IT experience.
• Experience implementing applications using Java Spring, React, Oracle, CI/CD (preferably in financial services).
• Strong knowledge in PLSQL and RDBMS technologies like Oracle.
• Domain knowledge in process governance and BPMN 2.0 is a plus.
• Excellent analytical and technical skills.
• Strong system analysis and modeling knowledge; UML preferred.
• Knowledge of AI tools (e.g., Devin, Copilot).
• Comfortable presenting technical solutions to large audiences.

Responsibilities

Job description

The Applications Development Technology Lead Analyst is a senior level position responsible for establishing and implementing new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology team. The overall objective of this role is to lead applications systems analysis and programming activities.

Responsibilities

• The Lead will be directly accountable for the software delivery timeline. Collaborate closely with Product Owners and business stakeholders to translate strategic business objectives into robust, scalable technical architectures. This includes implementing rigorous code reviews, automated testing, and strict compliance/security controls that junior team members are not yet equipped to design or enforce independently

Partner with multiple management teams to ensure appropriate integration of functions to meet goals as well as identify and define necessary system enhancements to deploy new products and process improvements
• Provide highly skilled and experienced hands-on support and technical leadership as we support the fast-paced, dynamic, time-sensitive activities.
• Contribute to defining and establishing frameworks and best practices required for enterprise-class solutions.
• Conduct innovative hands-on pilots and proofs of concepts (POCs) and support the production implementation of successful concepts.
• Develop core components and frameworks needed to implement and sustain Process intelligence solutions.
• Stay current with process modelling, in-house and industry developments in BPMN.
• Understand internal, hybrid, and cloud application development and hosting, with focus on BPMN and Workflow tools, frameworks, and policies.
• Resolve variety of high impact problems/projects through in-depth evaluation of complex business processes, system processes, and industry standards
• Provide AI expertise in area and advanced knowledge of applications programming and ensure application design adheres to the overall architecture blueprint.
• Utilize advanced knowledge of system flow and develop standards for coding, testing, debugging, and implementation
• Develop comprehensive knowledge of how areas of business, such as architecture and infrastructure, integrate to accomplish business goals
• Provide in-depth analysis with interpretive thinking to define issues and develop innovative solutions
• Serve as advisor or coach to mid-level developers and analysts, allocating work as necessary
• Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

Recommended Qualifications

• Minimum 12 + years of IT experience
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in implementing application using Java Spring, React, Oracle, CI/CD, preferable in the financial services sector, with knowledge in the following areas.
• Strong knowledge in PLSQL.
• Strong Knowledge in RDBMS technologies like ORAAS/Oracle.
• Domain knowledge in Process governance, process modelling, BPMN 2.0 is an added advantage.
• Excellent analytical and technical skills.
• Strong understanding of system analysis and modeling techniques. Knowledge of structured design techniques using tools like UML is preferred.
• Strong understanding of AI tools like Devin, Copilot etc.
• Comfortable presenting technical solutions to large audiences.
• Execution oriented with strong attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of various parts of a project or initiative
• Ability to run quick proof of concept and make recommendations
• Ability to work with globally located teams in various time zones

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field.
