Overview
Java Application Development Lead - Vice President at Citi. The Applications Development Technology Lead Analyst is a senior level position responsible for establishing and implementing new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology team. The objective is to lead applications systems analysis and design and development experience using Microservices, Java, Kafka, Oracle, SQL, REST, Spring Boot, Elastic Search.
Responsibilities
- Applies analytical thinking and knowledge of development methodologies. Requires attention to detail when making judgments and recommendations based on the analysis of information.
- Deals with most problems proactively and has some latitude to solve complex problems. Integrates in-depth specialty area knowledge with a solid grasp of industry standards and practices.
- Typically deals with variable issues with potentially broader business impact.
- Applies professional judgment when interpreting data and results. Breaks down information in a systematic and communicable manner.
- With developed communication and diplomacy skills, exchanges potentially complex information.
- Contributes to moderate but direct impact through close contact with the business\' core activities. Quality and timeliness of service provided will affect the effectiveness of own team and other closely related teams.
- Develops creative solutions to meet client and business needs by applying skills and knowledge of the business.
- Co-ordinates different agile calls with development team.
- Conducts architectural & design reviews and facilitates Cloud API solution delivery with technical excellence.
- Provides technical guidance & leadership to the team. Independently interfaces with clients for technical discussions and ensures completion of all architectural responsibilities.
What You Bring
- 12+ years of experience in developing & managing Enterprise applications, including 6+ years in Tech Lead roles.
- Expert in architecting enterprise-wide solutions using the Spring Cloud framework.
- Deep knowledge of application workflows and integration design.
- Expert level knowledge of software architectural principles and design patterns.
- Ability to identify risks and proactively develop mitigation strategies.
- Provide recommendations on development methodologies, frameworks applicability, technology choices, and relevant tool sets.
- Extensive experience in Java, J2EE, Microservices, Spring Cloud, and integration frameworks.
- Extensive experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Strong experience in DevOps tools and processes.
- Experience in UI Frameworks and technologies like Angular, JavaScript, Node.js.
- Experience with Java Messaging using Apache Kafka.
- Experience with Git/Bitbucket, TeamCity, uDeploy and IBM API Management.
- Hands-on experience in Linux with day-to-day command usage.
- Excellent writing and communication skills, with the ability to translate technical language for diverse audiences.
- Knowledge of Python and Gen AI tools is a plus.
On a typical day
- Provide technical and business support for Citi applications, driving stability, efficiency, and effectiveness improvements.
- Act as a liaison between users, internal technology groups, and vendors; coach to junior analysts.
- Participate in application releases from development to production; perform post-release checks and maintain technical documentation.
- Support and maintain applications in daily operations with focus on stability, quality, and functionality against SLAs.
- Assess risks in business decisions, safeguarding Citi, its clients, and assets by driving compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Education
- Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience.
