Qualifications

• 2–3 years of CFD analysis using STAR CCM+.
• Ability to carry out analytical calculations from first principles.
• Define analysis approaches with appropriate boundary conditions & acceptance criteria.
• Interpret analysis results and provide design recommendations.
• Exposure to multiphase/cavitation analysis is a plus.
• Engine/sub-system analysis is preferred.
• Strong CFD theory understanding and practical application.
• Knowledge of mechanical systems performance (engines, pumps, turbines, etc.).
• Clear, concise technical documentation and reports.
• Hands-on experience with STAR CCM+, SpaceClaim.
• Familiarity with GT Suite, OpenFOAM, C++, Python.
• Proficiency in MS Office for reporting.

Responsibilities

• Define and understand project scope with customers.
• Document and generate reports for geometry, materials, scope, deliverables, inputs, and queries.
• Perform geometry cleanup and meshing using STAR CCM+.
• Prepare CFD models and set up physics models, boundary conditions, and solution methods.
• Validate results against acceptance criteria.
• Propose design recommendations to meet criteria or optimize design.
• Prepare comprehensive analysis reports summarizing findings.
• Regularly engage with customers for project updates and on-time delivery.
• Manage day-to-day execution and prepare for key-review meetings.
• Mentor junior CFD engineers to achieve goals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Engage with the customer to clearly define and understand the project's scope thoroughly, ensuring alignment with project goals.
• Document/Report generation for geometry consideration, material properties, scope & approach, acceptance criteria, input data required, Queries, Deliverables etc.
• Perform Geometry Clean-up, Meshing using STAR CCM+ software
• Preparation of CFD model
• Physics models, Fluid and solid material properties, Boundary conditions, solution methods and initialization
• Validation of results through sanity checks, comparing the results against acceptance criteria.
• Propose design recommendations based on the results to meet acceptance criteria or to optimize the design.
• Prepare comprehensive analysis reports summarizing the project findings.
• Regularly engage with customers to discuss project status, provide updates, ensure timely deliveries, and adhere to project timelines.
• Manage the day-to-day execution of the project independently, prepare for review meetings at key stages, and ensure deadlines are met effectively.
• Guide junior CFD Engineers for meeting their project goals and deliverables

Experience and Skills Required:

• M. Tech in Thermal/Design/Automobile with 2 to 3 years of Experience in Computational Fluid Dynamic analysis using STAR CCM+ software
• Ability to carry out analytical calculations using first principles / engineering fundamentals.
• Ability to understand and comprehend requirements, understand operating environment of the component and system, define analysis approach with appropriate boundary conditions and define appropriate acceptance criteria.
• Ability to interpret analysis results and provide design recommendations.
• Exposure of Multiphase analysis & Cavitation Analysis - Added advantage
• Exposure to engine / engine sub-system analysis preferred - Preferred
• Good understanding of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) theory and practices.
• Good understanding of performance characteristics of mechanical systems such as engines and its subsystems, pumps, compressors, turbines, fans, etc.
• Good verbal and written communication skills, Ability to create clear and concise technical documentation.
• Mandatory - Hands-on experience on STAR CCM+, Spaceclaim,
• Good to Have - GT Suite, OpenFoam, C++, Python
• Good skills in MS-office tools. Ability to create reports and documentation.
