Physical Standards & Requirements

Physical tests, standards, and dimensions

• Height (All other States and Union Territories): 170 Cms (minimum)
• Chest (All other States and Union Territories): 80-85 Cms (Un-expanded to Expanded)
• Chest (Garhwalis, Kumaonis, Gorkhas, Dogras, Marathas, Assam, Himachal Pradesh, Kashmir, Ladakh): 78-83 Cms (Un-expanded to Expanded)
• Height (North-Eastern States including Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura): 162.5 Cms (minimum)
• Chest (North-Eastern States including Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura): 77-82 Cms (Un-expanded to Expanded)
• Weight: Proportionate to height and age as prescribed in Uniform guidelines for medical examination.
• 1.6 Kms Race: To be completed within 7 Minutes and 30 seconds.

Official exam day instructions and rules

• Candidates are required to bring a clear & legible print out of their online application form & admit card; else they will not be permitted to enter the venue of Physical Efficiency Test (PET) & Physical Standard Test (PST).
• Electronic gadgets including Mobile Phones, calculators, paper, digital wrist watch or any other electronic/electrical device are not permitted inside examination hall. Possession of these items will be considered as "use of unfair means".
• Defective question booklet may be replaced, if any candidate makes a request within 10 minutes from the commencement of the paper of Written Examination.
• Candidates found copying or using any unfair means should be disqualified and debarred from further test. An endorsement also be made in all such confiscated answer sheets by the Board/Observer to this effect.
• No representation for re-evaluation of answer sheet of Written Examination or re-conduct of written examination will be entertained.
