Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or Technical Lead on data analytics projects.
• Demonstrated technical leadership, coordinating teams and delivering complex initiatives.
• Strong knowledge of AWS data services and hands-on design/implementation experience.
• Experience with AWS Data Lakes and services including S3, Lambda, MWAA, CloudFormation, CloudWatch, EventBridge, SNS.
• Advanced Python and PySpark for scalable ETL workloads.
• Experience with ETL tools, Git and DevOps practices.
• Knowledge of generative AI and graph technologies (AWS Bedrock, Neo4j) and Snowflake.

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an IT Technical Lead based in India.

This is a senior technical leadership opportunity for an experienced data engineering professional working in a global, technology-driven environment.

The role combines hands-on engineering with technical leadership, project delivery, and solution design across enterprise IT initiatives.

You will guide technical teams, establish engineering standards, and ensure solutions are scalable, reliable, secure, and aligned with broader technology strategy.

A major focus will be on modern AWS data platforms, data lakes, analytics, cloud-native services, and data processing solutions.

You will collaborate with business stakeholders, project teams, functional managers, and technical specialists to translate requirements into effective solutions.

The role also provides an opportunity to explore emerging technologies, including generative AI, while improving consistency and engineering practices across projects.

Success will require strong technical depth, leadership presence, problem-solving ability, and a practical approach to delivering high-quality enterprise solutions.

Accountabilities

• Provide technical leadership for enterprise IT initiatives, coordinating technical resources and ensuring projects are delivered on time and to defined quality and design standards.
• Lead and mentor data engineering and technical teams, promoting engineering proficiency, knowledge sharing, consistent processes, and industry best practices.
• Design, develop, and oversee technology-enabled applications, products, services, and data solutions while ensuring alignment with the overall IT strategy.
• Lead technical design reviews, evaluate solution architectures, and ensure proposed designs meet business, technical, security, and operational requirements.
• Plan and oversee the development, enhancement, support, and availability of specific IT systems and services.
• Coordinate technical tasks and workstreams, track project plans, and apply appropriate project management methodologies to support successful delivery.
• Establish and maintain technical standards, guidelines, and reusable practices while driving consistency across applications and projects.
• Identify, communicate, and manage technical and business risks, acting as an escalation point for complex technical issues and production support challenges.
• Work closely with functional managers to evaluate emerging technologies and determine their potential value for current and future initiatives.
• Develop and manage modern AWS-based data solutions, including data lakes, cloud data processing, analytics platforms, and supporting services.
• Design and implement data processing workflows using AWS services such as S3, Lambda, MWAA, CloudWatch, EventBridge, SNS, and AWS Glue.
• Develop advanced Python and PySpark solutions for scalable data processing and ETL workloads.
• Support the use of modern data and AI technologies, including AWS Bedrock, Neo4j, Snowflake, and related enterprise platforms.
• Collaborate with project management, IT leadership, internal stakeholders, and external customers to communicate technical progress, requirements, risks, and outcomes.
• Research new technologies and business practices and translate relevant opportunities into practical improvements for engineering teams.
• Help define business and technical requirements and ensure delivered solutions effectively address organizational needs.
• Drive improvements in systems and application availability, reliability, maintainability, and operational performance.
• Ensure compliance with applicable security policies, technical procedures, and enterprise standards.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience working as a Data Engineer or Technical Lead on data analytics and enterprise data projects.
• Demonstrated technical leadership experience, including coordinating technical teams, mentoring engineers, and driving delivery across complex initiatives.
• Strong proficiency across multiple technologies and disciplines, with the ability to understand both technical architecture and business requirements.
• Deep knowledge of AWS data services and hands-on experience designing and implementing AWS-based data solutions.
• Strong experience working with AWS Data Lakes and services including S3, Lambda, MWAA, CloudFormation, CloudWatch, EventBridge, and SNS.
• Advanced Python programming skills and practical experience developing scalable data engineering solutions.
• Strong experience with AWS Glue and PySpark for data processing and transformation.
• Experience with ETL tools and modern data integration practices.
• Experience using source-code and version-control platforms such as Git and DevOps.
• Working knowledge of generative AI and graph technologies, particularly AWS Bedrock and Neo4j.
• Working knowledge of Snowflake and modern cloud data platforms.
• Strong understanding of technical design, application development, enterprise systems, and technology delivery practices.
• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills, with strong attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with customers, management, project teams, and technical specialists.
• Self-motivated and proactive, with the ability to take ownership of complex technical challenges and operate effectively in a collaborative environment.
