Job description

IT Service Engineer II

Location: Bangalore, India | Team: Treasury IT and D&T Finance

Are you a technically sharp, curious, and driven IT Service Engineer who loves solving complex problems and thrives in a collaborative, international environment? Do you want to work at the heart of financial technology, supporting mission‑critical systems that power one of the world’s leading reinsurance companies?

About the Role

As an IT Service Engineer II within our Treasury IT and D&T Finance team, you will play a pivotal role in keeping our Collateral Management platforms running smoothly, efficiently, and at the cutting edge. This is a hands‑on, high‑impact role where you'll work across incident management, change delivery, vendor collaboration, and platform modernisation. You'll have the opportunity to bring your ideas to the table, deepen your expertise, and grow alongside a team that genuinely values innovation, quality, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Incident & Request Management: Analyse, triage, and resolve L3 incidents and service requests in line with established processes, ensuring timely and effective outcomes
  • Change & Bug Fix Delivery: Manage and drive the end‑to‑end implementation of change requests and bug fixes, coordinating across stakeholders to deliver high‑quality solutions
  • Vendor Liaison: Act as the key connecting point between the Collateral Management team and our external vendor, facilitating clear communication and efficient resolution of issues
  • Platform Modernisation: Actively support the team in modernising the underlying technology landscape, contributing ideas and technical expertise to drive progress
  • Release Management: Plan and execute minor release upgrades, ensuring minimal disruption and maximum reliability
  • Platform Maintenance & Quality: Contribute to the ongoing maintenance and optimisation of our platforms, with a strong focus on simplicity, performance, maintainability, and automation
  • Collaboration & Agile Delivery: Work closely with business SMEs and technical colleagues in multi‑dimensional agile teams, championing quality, user experience, and documentation.
About the Team

We are a small but mighty, dynamic, and truly international team of experienced specialists who design, build, and operate the Treasury IT landscape in close collaboration with our business partners. We're passionate about what we do — whether that's architecting elegant solutions, streamlining operations, or pushing the boundaries of what's possible with modern technology. We follow agile methodologies and embrace DevOps practices as core to how we work. We are actively investing in Microsoft Azure as our cloud platform of choice, and we're on an exciting journey to modernise and evolve our technology landscape. If you enjoy working in an environment where your contributions are visible, your ideas are valued, and your growth is supported — you'll feel right at home here.

About You

You are a results‑driven IT Service Engineer with a solid track record in supporting and enhancing client‑facing solutions in complex technical environments. You bring a blend of technical depth and functional curiosity — you don't just fix problems, you understand them. You're comfortable navigating ambiguity, managing competing priorities, and communicating confidently with both technical peers and business stakeholders. You care deeply about quality, documentation, testing, and the bigger picture, and you bring a positive, collaborative energy to everything you do.

Requirements
  • 4–8 years of relevant experience in IT service engineering or a related discipline
  • Strong working knowledge of data modelling and SQL, with the ability to work with complex data structures and queries
  • Solid experience with DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines, version control, and automation tooling
  • Hands‑on experience with shell scripting, with the ability to write and maintain scripts for automation and operational tasks
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
Nice to haves
  • Prior experience in the domains of Trading, Collateral Management, or Capital Markets — this would be a significant advantage
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Azure or other cloud platforms
  • Experience working in agile or DevOps‑driven team environments
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills — you enjoy untangling both technical and functional challenges
  • Excellent communication skills in English (written and verbal), with the confidence to navigate divergent expert opinions and ambiguous requirements
  • A collaborative, team‑oriented mindset with a genuine care for user experience and documentation quality
