Qualifications

• Expert knowledge of Linux operating systems including RHEL and Ubuntu.
• Strong Linux system administration: packages, systemd, kernel tuning, performance tuning.
• Experience with Linux security hardening: SELinux, AppArmor, PAM, SSH, CIS benchmarks.
• Advanced troubleshooting using logs, journald, tcpdump, strace, lsof and netstat.
• Solid Linux networking knowledge: routing, DNS, firewalling, VLANs, TCP/IP.
• Scripting in Bash and PowerShell; automation of routine tasks.
• Experience managing large-scale production Linux environments.
• Knowledge of Linux filesystem and storage: LVM, multipathing, NFS/SMB.
• OS upgrades, patching, lifecycle management and disaster recovery.
• Excellent written and verbal English; able to work in multinational teams.

Job Title: IT Infrastructure System Engineer - Linux

Job Location: Bangalore

Shift Timings: 12PM - 9PM

OVERALL OBJECTIVES

As part of the IT Infrastructure Support Team for Eurofins Food, Feed & Agro Testing Europe, you will join an international team responsible for designing, deploying and operating enterprise Linux platforms across on-premises and Azure environments. The role focuses on Linux systems engineering, automation, virtualization, storage, backup and cloud infrastructure. You will support daily operational activities, troubleshoot complex technical issues, implement infrastructure improvements and deliver strategic transformation projects. The ideal candidate possesses strong Linux administration and automation skills, combined with hands-on experience in Azure, Hyper-V, enterprise storage and backup solutions. This position offers the opportunity to play a key role in Eurofins's ongoing infrastructure modernization initiatives across Europe.

SPECIFIC ASSIGNMENTS

• Support and maintain enterprise infrastructure platforms across on-premises and cloud environments.

REQUIRED SKILLS

An ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience in Linux Systems Engineering and Enterprise Infrastructure Operations:

• Expert knowledge of Linux operating systems including Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and Ubuntu.
• Strong experience with Linux system administration including package management, systemd, kernel tuning, performance optimization and troubleshooting.
• Experience with Linux security hardening, SELinux, AppArmor, PAM, SSH, auditd and CIS benchmark implementation.
• Advanced troubleshooting skills using system logs, journald, rsyslog, tcpdump, strace, lsof, netstat/ss and performance analysis tools.
• Strong understanding of Linux networking concepts, including routing, DNS, firewalling, VLANs and TCP/IP.
• Experience with Bash & Powershell scripting and automation of operational tasks.
• Experience managing and supporting large-scale production Linux environments.
• Strong understanding of Linux filesystem and storage concepts including LVM, multipathing, NFS and SMB.
• Experience performing OS upgrades, patching, lifecycle management and system recovery activities.
• Ability to diagnose and resolve complex operating system, performance and infrastructure-related issues.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multinational environment.

• Experience with Microsoft Azure administration, including Azure CLI, Azure Automation, Azure Virtual Machines, Networking, Storage Accounts, Private Endpoints, Key Vault and Desired State Configuration (DSC).
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform & familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
