Job summary

Egearz is seeking an experienced IoT Engineer in Pune to design and deliver end-to-end IoT solutions. The role covers architecture, device integration, cloud connectivity, data processing, and deployment across embedded systems.

Ideal candidates will have 5-7 years in IoT with hands-on experience across sensors, gateways, and IoT platforms, plus strong programming, networking, and debugging skills.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement end-to-end IoT solutions based on requirements.
• Own the full lifecycle: architecture, device selection, sensor integration, connectivity, data acquisition, backend/cloud integration, testing, deployment, maintenance.
• Develop and integrate software/firmware for IoT devices, sensors, gateways, and embedded systems.
• Configure sensors, microcontrollers, gateways, and communication modules.
• Implement MQTT, HTTP/HTTPS, TCP/IP, and related protocols.
• Develop data pipelines, dashboards, and real-time monitoring.

Job Overview

We are looking for a skilled and hands-on IoT Engineer with 5-7 years of experience in designing and developing end-to-end IoT solutions. The ideal candidate will be responsible for taking ownership of the complete development lifecycle from architecture and device integration to cloud connectivity, data processing, application development, testing, and deployment. The candidate should have strong technical expertise across IoT, embedded systems, communication protocols, cloud platforms, and software development, along with the ability to independently troubleshoot and deliver robust IoT solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement end-to-end IoT solutions, based on business and technical requirements.
• Own the complete IoT solution development lifecycle, including requirement analysis, solution architecture, device selection, sensor integration, connectivity, data acquisition, backend/cloud integration, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
• Develop and integrate software/firmware for IoT devices, sensors, gateways, and embedded systems.
• Configure and integrate sensors, microcontrollers, gateways, communication modules, and other IoT hardware.
• Implement and work with communication protocols such as MQTT, HTTP/HTTPS, TCP/IP, Modbus, UART, SPI, and I2C.
• Develop reliable mechanisms for real-time data acquisition, transmission, processing, storage, and monitoring.
• Integrate IoT devices and data with cloud platforms, databases, APIs, and enterprise applications.
• Develop and maintain data pipelines, APIs, and dashboards for real-time monitoring and analysis.
• Conduct system testing, debugging, performance optimization, and troubleshooting across hardware, firmware, network, and software layers.
• Identify technical issues and implement effective solutions to ensure system reliability, scalability, security, and performance.
• Prepare technical documentation including architecture diagrams, technical specifications, test reports, deployment documents, and system documentation.
• Research and evaluate emerging IoT technologies and recommend suitable solutions for business requirements.

Mandatory Technical Requirements

• Hands-on experience in developing IoT solutions from scratch.
• Strong understanding of IoT architecture, connected devices, data acquisition, connectivity, and cloud integration.
• Practical experience with sensors, microcontrollers, IoT devices, and embedded systems.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C/C++, Java, or JavaScript/Node.js.
• Strong knowledge of communication protocols such as MQTT, REST APIs, HTTP/HTTPS, TCP/IP, etc.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS/Azure and relevant IoT services.
• Familiarity with Linux/Embedded Linux environments.
• Working knowledge of Git/version-control systems and standard software development practices.
• Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills across hardware and software interfaces.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Industrial IoT (IIoT) solutions.
• Knowledge of industrial communication protocols such as Modbus RTU/TCP, CAN, OPC-UA, etc.
• Understanding of Edge Computing and edge-to-cloud architectures.
• Experience with Docker or other containerization technologies.
• Experience developing IoT dashboards, monitoring systems, or visualization applications.
• Exposure to cybersecurity practices for connected devices and IoT environments.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Electronics & Telecommunication, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related engineering discipline.
