Position Overview

As an Integration Engineer at Sandvik Coromant, you design and build integration solutions that connect systems, domains, and data across the business. You work across the full lifecycle - from solution design to coding to deployment - and are equally comfortable writing code and configuring low-code/event-driven flows. You turn architectural guidance into reusable, scalable integration assets, with a holistic mindset that balances speed of delivery with long-term maintainability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design & Build: Develop integration assets using Azure API Management, Azure Container Apps, Logic Apps, Service Bus, Event Hubs, and Event Grid, combining code-first development with low-code/event-driven patterns as the landscape evolves.
  • Architecture Evolution: Transition legacy or heavy code-first flows into efficient, event-driven, and low-code integration patterns where appropriate.
  • Event-Driven Architecture: Build and maintain event publishers/subscribers and streaming integrations (Event Hub, event-driven microservices), following defined architectural standards.
  • Standards & Reuse: Implement APIs, integration flows, and microservices aligned to architectural guardrails, promote reuse through documentation and pattern-sharing.
  • CI/CD & IaC: Create and maintain automated deployment pipelines, managing infrastructure via Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform/Bicep).
  • Observability & Security: Implement robust logging, tracing (OpenTelemetry), monitoring, and identity management (OAuth2, Azure AD, key vaults, API security).
  • Engineering Quality: Drive performance tuning, cost optimization, third-level support, and technical documentation to ensure asset reusability.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with architects and cross-functional engineering teams to translate architecture into working solutions.
Technical Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Experience: 4–7 years in integration, software, or platform engineering.
  • Azure Integration Stack: Hands-on expertise with Azure APIM, Azure Service Bus, Container Apps, and Logic Apps (Standard/Consumption).
  • Event-Driven Architecture: Working experience with Azure Event Hubs, Event Grid, or similar messaging/event streaming platforms.
  • Code-First Development: Strong proficiency in C# (.NET Core), Python, Node.js, or Java.
  • DevOps & IaC: Practical experience with Azure DevOps/GitHub Actions, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure-as-Code.
  • Data Protocols: Strong grasp of RESTful APIs, GraphQL, JSON/XML, webhook patterns, and pub/sub mechanics.
  • Comfortable moving between code-first development and low-code configuration as needed.
Soft Skills & Mindset
  • Wholistic Engineering Mindset: Ability to see beyond individual pipelines and understand how end-to-end data flows impact the wider business.
  • Problem Solving: Pragmatic approach to choosing between code-first custom development and low-code speed.
  • Collaboration: Strong communication skills to partner with cross-functional domain teams and enterprise architects.
  • Ownership mindset with focus on reliability, quality, and reusability.
  • Adaptable: willing to pick up new integration paradigms (event-driven, low-code) as the platform evolves.
