Reporting

This position reports to Head of Integrated Reporting Tools.

Role Purpose

In this role, you will own the delivery of the Integrated Reporting platforms that use SAP BW/4Hanna, SAP SAC & non‑SAP technologies and support the Finance organization of ABB for management and external reporting. You are a professional who oversees the successful delivery of BI solutions, bridging the gap between business needs and technical implementation. You will manage a team, coordinate resources, and ensure the quality and timeliness of BI deliverables.

Key Responsibilities

• Define BI modeling guidelines and best practices, guide the building of reporting solutions and dashboards using best practices and intuitive visualization.
• Work with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical specifications for BI solutions.
• Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of BI projects, often utilizing agile methodologies.
• Manage and mentor team members, fostering collaboration and ensuring efficient workflow.
• Communicate effectively with various stakeholders, including design team, business users, IS teams, and vendors.
• Manage the delivery of user‑friendly analytics insights by improving and adapting through continuous solutions delivery, and keep up‑to‑date technologies preference criteria for exposing the data to business users.
• Ensure the quality and accuracy of BI solutions, including data validation, reporting, and analytics.
• Identify opportunities to improve BI processes, tools, and solutions to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
• Act as a crucial link between the functional architects and the technical teams, ensuring that BI initiatives are effectively delivered and contribute to the organization’s success.
• Have a strong understanding of BW/4Hanna, SAP SAC, S4/Hanna finance data model and data warehousing principles.

Collaboration / Leadership

• Engage with business leaders, consumers, and customers to understand changes to processes, products, services, software, and hardware to improve efficiencies and add value.
• Manage relationships with stakeholders in their own area of responsibility to define solutions and ensure alignment.
• Provide leadership, guidance, or support to temporary work teams, through advising and monitoring task completion without carrying line responsibility.
• Collaborate and provide guidance across ABB across various finance functions.
• Set the example for proactively building working relationships within the team, acting as an escalation point for staff and ensuring relationship challenges are addressed.
• Create an environment to facilitate collaboration between the organization and its technology suppliers, ensuring positive and effective working relationships are developed and maintained.
• Coach and guide Solution Architects on the best practices and latest technology developments to ensure their continuous professional growth.

Qualifications (Mandatory)

• Master’s degree in computer science, finance, statistics, applied mathematics, or related field.
• Minimum 15 years of experience in a functional architecture role on large SAP program.
• Good understanding of financial end‑to‑end processes such as Record to Report, FP&A, Order to Cash, etc.
• Knowledge of working with and using SAP, BW/ BW/4Hana, SAC and SAP MDG is a must. Exposure to non‑SAP data analytics environment like Snowflake is an advantage.
• Strong problem‑solving skills with an emphasis on product development.
• Experience using statistical computer languages (R, Python, SQL, etc.) to manipulate data and draw insights from large data sets.
• Knowledge of a variety of machine learning techniques (clustering, decision tree learning, artificial neural networks, etc.) and their real‑world advantages/drawbacks.
• A collaborative, solution‑focused approach and strong written and spoken communication skills.
• A drive to learn and master new technologies and techniques. Experience with cloud services (SAP Rise, AWS, Azure, GCP) and understanding of scaling analytics projects in cloud environments.
