Job summary

A leading professional services firm is seeking a Guidewire Developer Manager to support various Acceleration Center services. The candidate will have 10 to 16 years of experience, specializing in Guidewire products and insurance domain knowledge. Responsibilities include software design, client communication, and project ownership. The ideal applicant will have strong analytical skills and effective mentorship experience while contributing to innovative solutions in challenging projects. This is a full-time position located in Chennai, Tamil Nadu.

Qualifications

  • 10 to 16 years of total experience required.
  • Sound knowledge in the software architecture and design patterns for Tech Lead and Senior Tech Lead.
  • Must have estimation, team leading, code review, and mentoring skills.

Responsibilities

  • Review estimates and suggest updates for your module.
  • Complete design and develop accordingly in a timely fashion.
  • Support testing and client queries.

Skills

Insurance domain knowledge with Property & Casualty background
Hands-on experience with Guidewire products (Claim, Policy, Billing)
Strong knowledge of the Guidewire platform
Good knowledge of Web services, XML
Experience with Oracle/SQL Server database and SQL
Experience in SCRUM Agile, preferably Certified Scrum Master (CSM)
Strong written and oral communication
Excellent analytical skills

As a Guidewire developer at PwC, you will specialise in developing and customising applications using the Guidewire platform—a software suite that provides insurance companies with tools for policy administration, claims management, and billing. You will be responsible for designing, coding, and testing software solutions that meet the specific needs of insurance organisations.

Guidelines for Position
  • Role: Guidewire Developer Billing Center – Manager
  • Total Experience: 10 to 16 years
  • Educational Qualification: BTech/BE/MTech/MS/MCA/MBA
Required Skills
  • Insurance domain knowledge with Property & Casualty background
  • Hands‑on experience with at least one of the Guidewire products (Claim, Policy, Billing, Rating, Thunderhead Forms, Legacy Conversion) Version 8.x or above
  • Well versed in one of the streams: configuration, integration, conversion, Rating
  • Strong knowledge of the Guidewire platform (Gosu scripting, UI, Data Model)
  • Good knowledge of Web services, XML
  • Experience with Oracle/SQL Server database and SQL
  • Experience in SCRUM Agile, preferably Certified Scrum Master (CSM)
  • Good knowledge of any server such as Tomcat/JBoss
  • Strong written and oral communication
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • For Tech Lead and Senior Tech Lead: sound knowledge in software architecture and design patterns
  • Must have estimation, team leading, code review, and mentoring skills
  • Worked on at least two Guidewire implementations
  • Good to have: Thunderhead/MuleSoft Integration experience
