Job summary

NIIT is hiring for an instructional designer to craft high-quality, learner-centered experiences for external audiences. Qualifications

• 3-6 years of experience in instructional design or learning experience design for external audiences.
• End-to-end delivery of learning assets from design through development and build.
• Strong understanding of adult learning principles and LXD best practices.
• Experience using AI-enabled tools to support content development with accountability for final outputs.
• Experience working with SMEs and incorporating structured feedback into deliverables.
• Experience supporting localization or translation workflows for learning content.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Experience working in enterprise environments with defined standards and governance.

Responsibilities

• Develop digital, blended, and ILT experiences for clients and ecosystem participants using templates and standards.
• Leverage AI-enabled tools to accelerate creation of drafts, storyboards, and content outlines, and refine outputs.
• Ensure outputs meet objectives and audience expectations with sound instructional judgment.
• Collaborate with SMEs to shape complex content for external learners.
• Support curriculum maintenance, enhancements, and revisions across portfolios.
• Support translations and localization, preparing content for handoff and validating locales.
• Ensure quality, accessibility, branding, and governance across learning experiences.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop high-quality, learner-centered learning experiences for external audiences, aligned to defined learning objectives, experience frameworks, and curriculum standards
• Execute externally focused learning strategy, producing instructional designs, storyboards, scripts, slide decks, facilitator guides, participant materials, and supporting assets
• Develop digital, blended, and instructor-led learning experiences intended for clients, partners, and ecosystem participants, using established templates, tools, and design standards
• Leverage AI-enabled tools to accelerate the creation of draft learning designs, storyboards, scripts, and content outlines, applying instructional expertise to validate, refine, and finalize outputs
• Apply sound instructional and learning experience design judgment to ensure AI-assisted outputs meet learning objectives, professional audience expectations
• Partner with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to help shape complex, technical, or domain-specific content into effective learning experiences for external learners
• Support ongoing curriculum maintenance, enhancements, and revisions across an existing portfolio of externally delivered learning assets
• Support the implementation of translations and localization, including preparing content for handoff, addressing design considerations, and validating localized versions against original learning intent
• Ensure learning experiences meet quality, accessibility, brand, and governance standards
• Design content for modularity, reuse, and localization, enabling efficient scaling across regions, markets, and external audience segments
• Collaborate effectively with global stakeholders across time zones, including curriculum architects, project leads, localization partners, and fellow designers and developers

Qualifications

• 3-6 years of experience in instructional design, learning design, or learning experience design, ideally supporting external or professional audiences
• Demonstrated experience delivering end-to-end learning assets, from design through development and build
• Strong understanding of adult learning principles and learning experience design best practices
• Demonstrated ability to use AI-enabled tools to support content development, including drafting designs, scripts, or learning assets, with clear accountability for final outputs
• Experience working with Subject Matter Experts and incorporating structured feedback into final deliverables
• Experience supporting localization or translation workflows for learning content (in partnership with vendors or internal teams)
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
• Experience working in structured, enterprise environments with defined standards, processes, and governance

Preferred Skills

• Experience designing learning for external, client-facing, or professional audiences
• Familiarity with common learning authoring tools such as Articulate Rise, Storyline, or similar platforms
• Experience developing video-based or media-rich learning experiences
• Experience using AI-enabled content creation tools (e.g., Synthesia or similar), or demonstrated ability to quickly learn and apply AI tools to improve efficiency in learning design and development workflows
• Comfort working within a global delivery model with distributed, cross-functional teams
