FedEx Asia Pacific is seeking a Sr. Specialist, Supply Chain Operations to lead end-to-end logistics for multiple customer accounts, including pharma and MedTech sectors.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end supply chain operations across warehouses, inventory, order fulfillment, distribution and transportation.
  • Ensure compliance with customer quality systems, SOPs and regulatory requirements (pharma/MedTech).
  • Build strong relationships with pharma/MedTech customers and internal teams; manage escalations and reviews.
  • Drive continuous improvement in productivity, cost efficiency and process excellence.
  • Oversee inventory accuracy, order processing and traceability across the network.
  • Define and track KPIs like OTIF, inventory accuracy and warehouse productivity.
  • Support contract renewals, onboarding of new customers and project implementations.
  • Lead quality, compliance, audits and remediation actions; promote a strong control environment.
  • Develop teams, set objectives and manage workforce capacity across sites.
  • Enable new business implementations and operational readiness for new sites/products/services.

INP066: Sr. Specialist, Supply Chain Operations
  • End-to-End Supply Chain Operations Lead and manage day-to-day 3PL / contract logistics operations across assigned customer accounts or locations. Ensure smooth and efficient execution of warehousing, inventory, order fulfillment, distribution and transportation activities. Translate customer requirements and contractual commitments into effective operational plans. Ensure achievement of agreed SLAs, KPIs, service levels and operational targets. Monitor operational performance and take timely corrective actions for gaps and deviations. Manage operational capacity in line with business volumes, seasonality and customer growth. Ensure business continuity and effective contingency planning.
  • Pharma & MedTech Supply Chain Operations Manage supply chain operations for Pharma and MedTech customers, ensuring adherence to customer-specific requirements and applicable quality standards. Develop a strong understanding of Pharma/MedTech supply chain requirements related to product handling, storage, inventory management, order fulfillment, distribution and traceability. Ensure compliance with relevant customer quality systems, SOPs and regulatory requirements. Work closely with Quality, Compliance and customer teams to manage deviations, CAPAs, audits and operational quality issues. Ensure appropriate handling and control of sensitive, high-value or regulated products as applicable. Maintain strong focus on product integrity, inventory accuracy, order accuracy and traceability.
  • Customer & Stakeholder Management Act as a key operational point of contact for assigned customers and stakeholders. Build and maintain strong relationships with Pharma and MedTech customers. Conduct regular operational performance reviews and business reviews with customers. Understand customer priorities and proactively address service and operational concerns. Manage escalations effectively and ensure timely closure of customer issues. Identify opportunities to improve customer experience and strengthen long-term partnerships. Work closely with Sales, Solution Design, Finance, Procurement, IT, Quality and other internal teams.
  • Operational Excellence & Productivity Drive continuous improvement across warehouse, transportation and supply chain processes. Identify opportunities to improve productivity, resource utilization, process efficiency and service quality. Establish and monitor productivity standards for key operational activities. Optimize manpower, equipment, warehouse capacity and other operational resources. Lead Lean, Kaizen, Six Sigma or other continuous improvement initiatives. Identify process bottlenecks and implement sustainable corrective and preventive actions. Drive automation, digitization and technology adoption wherever commercially and operationally viable.
  • Inventory & Order Management Ensure high levels of inventory accuracy and order fulfillment accuracy. Monitor inventory movements, cycle counts, stock reconciliation and inventory controls. Ensure timely and accurate order processing, picking, packing and dispatch. Monitor inventory variances, damages, losses, expiry and other inventory-related risks. Establish effective controls to minimize errors, rework and operational losses. Ensure proper documentation and system transactions across the supply chain process.
  • Performance Management & Analytics Define, monitor and improve operational KPIs across customer accounts. Track metrics such as: On-Time In-Full (OTIF) Order Fulfillment Accuracy Inventory Accuracy Warehouse Productivity Picking/Packing Accuracy Dispatch Accuracy Order Cycle Time Dock-to-Stock Time Cost per Order / Unit Space Utilization Manpower Productivity Customer SLA Compliance
  • Cost & Profitability Management Manage operating costs for assigned supply chain operations. Identify opportunities for cost reduction, productivity improvement and margin enhancement. Monitor manpower, warehouse, transportation, equipment and other operating costs. Ensure operations perform in line with agreed financial and commercial objectives. Partner with Finance to monitor budget, actual costs, accruals and profitability. Develop and execute action plans to improve account profitability. Identify and implement value-creation opportunities for customers and the business.
  • 3PL & Contract Logistics Management Manage and operate complex third-party logistics and contract logistics environments. Ensure adherence to contractual obligations, SLAs, SOPs and commercial commitments. Review operational performance against contract requirements. Identify contractual gaps, scope changes and opportunities for operational/commercial improvement. Support contract renewals, business expansions, transition projects and new customer implementations. Ensure effective governance mechanisms are established with customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Quality, Compliance & Risk Management Ensure compliance with company policies, customer SOPs and applicable regulatory requirements. Support internal, customer and regulatory audits. Ensure timely closure of audit observations and corrective actions. Establish effective operational controls to minimize risks related to inventory, quality, safety and service. Promote a strong culture of quality, compliance and operational discipline. Ensure appropriate documentation, training and SOP adherence across operations.
  • Team Leadership & People Development Lead, develop and mentor operations teams across assigned locations/accounts. Establish clear performance objectives and productivity expectations. Build a culture of accountability, customer focus and continuous improvement. Identify capability gaps and develop training and development plans. Manage workforce planning and resource requirements in line with business volumes. Develop high-performing teams and succession pipelines.
  • Transformation & New Business Implementation Support new customer onboarding, transition and implementation projects. Work with Solution Design and Business Development teams to translate proposed solutions into operational reality. Validate operational assumptions, capacity requirements, manpower plans and productivity targets. Lead operational readiness activities for new sites, customers, products and services. Ensure successful stabilization and handover of new operations to the BAU team.
Required Qualifications & Experience
  • MBA in Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations, Engineering, Business Administration or related discipline.
  • 10–15 years of relevant experience in supply chain, logistics or operations in India.
  • Strong experience in 3PL / third-party contract logistics.
  • Proven experience managing end-to-end supply chain or logistics operations.
  • Relevant experience working with Pharma and/or MedTech customers within supply chain/logistics operations is strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of warehousing, inventory management, order fulfillment, transportation and distribution.
  • Experience managing customer accounts and senior customer stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of operational KPIs, SLAs and contract logistics commercial models.
  • Experience in productivity improvement, cost optimization and operational excellence.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with WMS, TMS, ERP/SAP or other supply chain technology platforms is preferred.
  • Preferred Industry Experience Candidates from organizations providing 3PL / contract logistics services to Pharma, Healthcare, Medical Devices or Life Sciences customers would be strongly preferred.
