JPMorganChase in Bengaluru seeks an Infrastructure Engineer II to join the Payments Technology team. You will apply strong infrastructure engineering skills across applications, networks, and data centers, delivering scalable solutions and maintaining end-to-end monitoring.

Role involves DevOps practices with Jenkins, Kubernetes, Terraform, and Kafka, while leveraging AI-enabled monitoring to drive capacity analysis and resiliency.

Qualifications

  • Formal training or certification in infrastructure engineering
  • Hands-on DevOps experience with emphasis on Jenkins, Kubernetes, and SDLC pipelines
  • Experience deploying to hybrid cloud infrastructure (on-prem and off-prem)
  • Strong Linux (RHEL) knowledge with CLI proficiency
  • Experience working with production support for deployment readiness and resiliency plans
  • Proficient in Git branch management and infrastructure security; familiarity with Kafka and Elasticsearch resiliency
  • Experience planning, designing, deploying Kafka messaging apps and troubleshooting
  • Experience with Helm for Kubernetes package management and Terraform
  • Ability to use observability and monitoring tools (Datadog, Dynatrace, Geneos, Grafana, OpenTelemetry) to find root causes
  • Knowledge of querying/monitoring relational/NoSQL databases (SQL Server, Oracle, MongoDB)
  • Experience using AI capabilities to support infrastructure workflows with validation and security awareness
  • Ability to review and validate AI-assisted recommendations before implementation

As an Infrastructure Engineer II at JPMorganChase within the Commercial & Investment Bank Payments Technology team, you utilize strong knowledge of software, applications, and technical processes within the infrastructure engineering discipline. Apply your technical knowledge and problem-solving methodologies across multiple applications of moderate scope.

Job Responsibilities
  • Applies technical knowledge and problem-solving methodologies to projects of moderate scope, with a focus on improving data and systems running at scale, and ensures end-to-end monitoring of applications
  • Uses enterprise-authorized AI capabilities within the work environment to accelerate monitoring and capacity analysis and documentation, validating outputs and handling operational data according to sensitivity and security requirements
  • Resolves most nuances and determines appropriate escalation path
  • Executes conventional approaches to build or break down technical problems while considering upstream and downstream data and systems or technical implications
  • Drives the daily activities supporting the standard capacity process applications and partners with application and infrastructure teams to identify potential capacity risks and govern remediation statuses
  • Accountable for making significant decisions for a project consisting of multiple technologies and applications
  • Applies reuse-first, AI-assisted approaches to identify recurring capacity risks and improve remediation workflows, ensuring changes are validated and aligned to resiliency and security expectations
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • Formal training or certification on infrastructure engineering concepts and 2+ years applied experience
  • Hands-on experience in DevOps, with a strong focus on Jenkins, Kubernetes, and SDLC pipelines
  • Proven experience deploying to hybrid cloud infrastructure with both on-prem and off-prem capabilities
  • Working knowledge of Linux systems (preferably RHEL), including strong command-line skills for day-to-day engineering and troubleshooting
  • Working with production support teams to facilitate deployment readiness and resiliency plans, along with MTTR improvement capabilities
  • Proficient in Git branch management and infrastructure security. Knowledge of setting up and managing Kafka and Elasticsearch, including their resiliency
  • Experience with planning, design, and deployment of Kafka messaging applications and troubleshooting issues
  • Experience with Helm for Kubernetes package management, Experience with Terraform
  • Ability to utilize multiple observability and monitoring tools (Datadog, Dynatrace, Geneos, Grafana, OpenTelemetry) to discern and discover root cause issues related to application and/or infrastructure code
  • Working knowledge of querying and monitoring relational/NoSQL databases (SQL Server, Oracle, MongoDB) - provisioning is handled via self-service tooling, so deep build-out expertise is not required
  • Demonstrated experience using enterprise-authorized AI capabilities within the work environment to support infrastructure engineering workflows with strong validation habits and awareness of data sensitivity
  • Ability to review and validate AI-assisted recommendations before implementation, escalating when uncertain and ensuring outcomes align to resiliency, security, and auditability expectations
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, And Skills
  • Proficient in Python and/or PowerShell
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Certifications in Kubernetes (CKA or CKAD), AWS (Solutions Architect Associate or SysOps Administrator Associate), and Terraform (HashiCorp Terraform Associate)
  • Experience in financial services or a related industry
