Job summary

General Mills is seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to lead migration and modernization of Oracle databases to the public cloud. The role focuses on Oracle 19c, Data Guard, Linux, and automation using shell/Python in a 24/7 environment.

You will own migration processes, ensure security compliance, and collaborate with stakeholders to resolve incidents within an Agile framework. This is a high-impact, Fortune 500 setting.

Qualifications

• 5+ years administering, designing, modernizing, or migrating enterprise Oracle databases.
• Oracle 19c, Data Guard, ASM, Linux, shell scripting or Python.
• HA/DR, backup, recovery, tuning, and production support.
• Cloud experience with cloud adoption, security, governance, and integration.
• Automation/DevOps: provisioning, support, monitoring, lifecycle operations.
• Strong Linux experience; Windows support is a plus.
• DevOps/Agile practices and proofs of concept.
• Self-starter, collaborative, customer-focused work style.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience: 5+ years administering, designing, modernizing, or migrating enterprise Oracle databases.
• Core Technical Skills: Oracle Database 19c; Data Guard primary-standby; ASM; Linux; and shell scripting and/or Python.
• High Availability and Recovery: Experience with HA, DR, backup and recovery, tuning, and production support.
• Cloud Experience: Experience with cloud adoption, security, governance, and integration.
• Automation and DevOps: Experience automating provisioning, support, monitoring, and lifecycle operations.
• Operating Systems: Strong Linux experience; Windows Server is beneficial.
• Engineering Practices: Working knowledge of DevOps and Agile practices and proofs of concept.
• Service Orientation: Experience designing user-centric database services, including self-service provisioning.
• Soft Skills: Excellent communication and collaboration skills; flexible, reliable, self-starting, and customer focused.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI): Experience with OCI and cloud-based Oracle database services.
• Infrastructure as Code: Terraform experience for OCI provisioning and automation.
• Automation Tooling: Ansible, GitHub, or similar tooling; Python or shell scripting.
• Additional Experience: Agile methods and cross-platform database experience.
