Job summary

Maersk is seeking an Infrastructure Engineer in Bangalore to help re-architect and host our application estate, enabling a composable platform for product teams. You will drive the next-generation platform, promote best practices, and support a unified journey for customers and vendors across our global network.

You will collaborate with engineering teams to deliver high-availability solutions, tackle complex problems, and contribute to the technology roadmap while shaping Maersk’s digital

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Engineering
• 5+ years of engineering experience at scale
• Experience with diverse operating systems both on prem and in Cloud (Azure and Google)
• Develop and implement solutions using Python (or other programming language), CLI, PowerShell, GPOs
• Experience in system performance analysis, tuning, and troubleshooting for network, system, and hardware
• Experience with High Availability, clustering, failover, and load balancing

Responsibilities

• Execute technical, engineering practices, and engineering methodologies.
• Work on problems, building high quality, architecturally sound systems aligned with business needs.
• Execute technology roadmap with release goals; participate in POCs for new tech solutions.
• Handle and automate day-to-day administration tasks including systems reporting and tuning.
• Design and write larger-scale applications for a large server estate.
• Contribute to documentation and team routines; collaborate with other engineers.
• Represent Maersk in external technology events and conferences.

Role Overview

The role of the Infrastructure Engineer within our Technology Services Engineering Team is a key driver and doer in a fundamental shift in how we architect and host our application estate to ensure that we can take our platform operating model to the next level. You will be an advocate to enable a composable technology foundation which will enable our Product development teams in building our digital foundation of the future to help delivering for our global customer base. Your focus will be on both assisting in the ideation and realisation of what our next generation platform will encompass, as well as then helping our Product teams in implementing products that are aligned to this long‑term Platform vision. To realise Maersk’s “One Customer Journey”, a consistent and resilient platform is essential. You will be key in helping promote ‘the right way’ in how we utilise technology in delivering on this promise. To help to make our next generation platform successful, we are looking for key individuals to join our Technology Services Engineering team to help shape this vision and be pivotal in transforming how we do business with customers and vendors.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute technical, engineering practices, and engineering methodologies.

• Execute technology roadmap with the associated release goals. Participate in POCs for new and upcoming strategic technology solutions.
• Handling and automating day to day administration tasks including systems reporting and system tuning
• Good understanding of programming and scripting, with the ability to create targeted, ad‑hoc custom solutions to specific problems the ability to design and write larger‑scale applications able to function on a large server estate

Key Skills

• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Engineering
• 5+ years of experience of engineering experience at scale
• Experience with diverse operational systems both on prem (virtual and physical) and in Cloud (Azure and Google)
• Develop and implement solutions using Python (or other programming language), CLI, PowerShell, GPOs
• Experience in system performance analysis, tuning, and troubleshooting experience including network, system, and hardware optimization for low latency.
• Experience with High Availability, clustering, failover, and load balancing
• Red Hat and/or Microsoft Windows Server certification is a plus
• Excellent communication skills, solid work ethic, and a strong desire to write production quality code.
• Knowledge of programming languages, operating system principles, networking, and software development best practices.
• Experience of working with offshore teams
• Experience of Test-Driven Development approaches
• Passionate about learning new tools, languages, philosophies, and workflows
