Summary

As a Datadog Cloud Dashboard Engineer, you will be required to lead the design, development, and optimization of advanced dashboards within Datadog. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of observability, cloud-native monitoring, and real-time data visualization using Datadog's latest capabilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement digital monitoring solutions in Datadog for complex enterprise environments.
  • Gather requirements from stakeholders to build meaningful, actionable, and visually compelling dashboards.
  • Leverage Datadog Metrics, Logs, Traces, and Events to provide deep insights into application and infrastructure health.
  • Create reusable dashboard templates and scalable dashboarding strategies.
  • Integrate Datadog with external data sources and visualization tools if needed.
  • Collaborate with SREs, Developers, and Product Owners to promote observability best practices.
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • 35+ years of hands‑on experience with Datadog, with a focus on custom dashboarding.
  • Deep expertise in building dashboards in Datadog, including widgets (time series, query values, toplists, heatmaps).
  • Filtering and tagging strategies.
  • Strong experience working with Metrics, Logs, Traces, and Business Events in Datadog.
  • Understanding of application performance monitoring (APM) and observability concepts.
  • Experience in visual storytelling: structuring dashboards to communicate insights effectively.
  • Proficient in dashboard performance tuning and optimization.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Familiarity with REST APIs and automation of dashboard deployment (via Terraform, Datadog APIs, or configuration‑as‑code).
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Datadog certifications.
  • Experience integrating Datadog with ITSM tools (e.g., ServiceNow), alerting systems, or CI/CD pipelines.
