Job summary

Srmap in Mumbai is offering a 6-month full-time internship focused on Data & Analytics, cloud-native development on Azure, and modern software practices. You will learn to write and test code, build data pipelines, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver features.

Ideal candidates are enrolled in CS/Engineering/Math/Stats programs with foundational Java, Python, SQL skills and an interest in cloud, DevOps, and ML workflows.

Qualifications

• Enrollment in a degree program in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or related fields.
• Foundational programming skills in Java, TypeScript, Python, and/or SQL.
• Understanding of relational databases and SQL.
• Basic scripting skills in Python and/or Bash.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to writing and testing code for Data & Analytics applications.

Your Role

Key responsibilities include:

• Contributing to writing and testing code for Data & Analytics applications.

About You

The company is looking for candidates who have:

• Current enrollment in a degree program in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or related technical or quantitative fields.
• Foundational programming skills in Java, TypeScript, Python, and/or SQL.
• Understanding of relational databases and basic SQL.
• Basic scripting skills in Python and/or Bash.
• Strong problem‑solving, analytical thinking, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• A desire to produce high‑quality software through testing, code reviews, and teamwork.
• Understanding of cloud computing concepts, particularly Microsoft Azure.
• Understanding of data structures, algorithms, and basic statistics.

Preferred but not mandatory skills include:

• Exposure to Spring Framework, React, Angular, or AI/ML products such as Azure Machine Learning and Databricks.
• Familiarity with Azure Cloud services, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, and Infrastructure as Code tools.
• Understanding of version control (Git), CI/CD tools (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI), and Agile methodologies.
• Experience contributing to team projects or technical documentation.
• Awareness of monitoring/logging tools like Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Azure Monitor.
• Interest in writing tests with Pytest and static analysis tools such as SonarQube.
• Familiarity with data analysis and machine learning frameworks such as Pandas, scikit‑learn, PyTorch, Spark.
• Experience working with large datasets or cloud platforms (Azure, GCP).
• Basic understanding of software engineering practices including Git, testing, and CI/CD.
