Job summary

Alstom is seeking an Industrial Quality Engineer to oversee IQ activities in the workshop, supporting decision making on GO/NOGO and safety-critical actions. You will implement and update Quality Control Plans, ensure product history documentation, and participate in customer inspections and internal audits.

Required are a bachelor’s degree in engineering, knowledge of ISO9001/IRIS, and experience with quality tools (QRQC, Lean Six Sigma).

Qualifications

• Knowledge of quality processes at industrial level.
• Bachelor degree in engineering (electromechanical, electrical, mechanical) or equivalent.
• Ability to read drawings / specifications and use test equipment.
• Special Process Qualification Level 2 per Quality Academy criteria.
• Experience with quality tools (QRQC, Lean Six Sigma).

Responsibilities

• Manage IQ activities in workshop: People, Process & Performance.
• Lead demerit analysis and cross-functional quality animation.
• Support handovers decisions and keep NO GO veto rights.
• Stop production if mandatory safety concerns arise.
• Contribute to Process FMEA and Criticality Matrix analysis.
• Lead FAR and participate in FMR/SMR reviews.
• Update Quality Control Plans during Pre & Serial manufacturing.
• Ensure Product History Book compliance before shipping.
• Assist in internal NCR characterization and closure using QRQC.
• Participate in customer inspections and self-inspection improvements.
• Manage Workstation Dynamic Checklists and inspections.
• Perform workstation audits and follow-ups.
• Conduct product inspections as required (e.g., PCx).
• Reduce non-quality costs (CONQ per unit) and improve APSYS scores.

Industrial Quality Engineer

• Manage IQ activities in relevant workshop : People, Process & Performance
• Perform DpU / External Demerit analysis to lead efficient Line Quality Animation with industrial cross function team
• Support the decision for all Hand Overs (GO / NOGO) & keeps NO GO Veto Right in any case
• Stop the production if needed for mandatory reason (e.g. Safety impact needed rework)
• Participate to Criticality Matrix analysis & contribute to Process FMEA (Failure Mode & Effect & Analysis)
• Lead FAR & Participate to FMR / SMR
• Implement & Regularly update of Quality Control Plans during Pre & Serial manufacturing activities
• Ensure availability of Product History Book & Compliance of the manufactured products before shipping
• Support PIQ in her / his scope
• Manage Internal NCR: Support NCR team to complete characterization until closure using Problem Solving methodology (e.g. QRQC)
• Participate in Customer Inspections
• Qualify manufacturing teams regarding the Self-Inspection
• Manage Workstation Dynamic Checklists (Self-Inspection & Workstation Inspection)
• Perform Workstation Audit & Follow-up
• Perform or participate to inspections of products when required (e.g. PCx) Performance measurements
• External Demerit, Defects per Unit & First Pass Yield reductions to achieve objectives defined
• CONQ per unit (Cost Of Non Quality) reduction to achieve objective defined
• APSYS score objective for Industrial Quality requirements (Q09 to Q13 items)

Mandatory:

• Processes knowledge on Quality and at Industrial level

Desirable:

• 5 years experiences in Industrial
• Experience in Project management or equivalent
• Experience in audit are appreciated
• Bachelor degree in engineering (electromechanical, electrical, material, mechanical…) or equivalent for Engineer
• Must be able to read drawings / specifications and familiar with a variety of test equipment
• Special Process Qualification minimum at Level 2 according to Quality Academy criteria’s
• Experience in managing Quality tools (Problem solving, Lean Six Sigma, …)
• Railway experience is a "plus"
