Job summary

Sigma Engineered Solutions is seeking a seasoned quality Assurance & Control leader to drive manufacturing quality across all plants in India. You will define strategy, approve quality plans, and ensure compliance with ISO and OHSAS standards.

The role requires 18+ years in QA in manufacturing and experience institutionalizing TQM/TPM, with a track record of reducing COPQ and leading cross-plant initiatives.

Qualifications

• 18+ years of experience in QA in manufacturing.
• Experience institutionalizing quality systems such as TQM, TPM and OHSAS.

Responsibilities

• Provide inputs in creating overall strategy for manufacturing operations across all plants in India.
• Oversee end to end development and implementation of quality plans for manufacturing processes & products.
• Collaborate with leadership to identify new initiatives / projects and set operational plans.
• Create & implement approved quality assurance and control policies, processes, procedures and monitor their adherence.
• Provide input to RFQs and assess feasibility of inspection systems to meet quality levels.
• Approve quality plans aligning with standards, customer expectations and safety norms.
• Oversee SPSA and FMEA to identify risks and implement preventive measures.
• Approve stage wise inspection & testing plans and ensure adherence to quality standards.
• Coach team and drive COPQ reduction across all plants.
• Review drawings/specifications and prepare inspection protocols and MQP to capture voice of customers.
• Develop robust quality systems to maintain high standards at shop floor per ISO/OHSAS.
• Contribute to supplier quality manuals and review inspection systems.
• Create inspection plans to monitor incoming materials and finished products.
• Champion organizational values and foster collaboration and innovation.
• Promote continuous development and high performance within the team.
• Participate in recruitment and ensure retention/engagement of team.

Role & responsibilities

• Provide inputs in creating overall strategy for manufacturing operations across all plants in India & create a roadmap to ensure adherence to overall objectives, goals.
• Oversee end to end development and implementation of quality plans for manufacturing processes & products.
• Collaborate with leadership to identify new initiatives / projects and set operational plans that meet the future demands of manufacturing operations for all plants.
• Create & implement approved quality assurance and control policies, processes, procedures and monitor their adherence so that work is carried out in a controlled manner.
• Provide input to various Request for Quotations (RFQs) received and assess the feasibility of existing inspection systems in meeting expected quality levels.
• Approve various quality plans encompassing prevalent standards, practices, guidelines, resources, processes etc. in alignment with manufacturing operations, customer expectations, product specifications, cost, and safety norms for respective plants.
• Oversee conduction of thorough Proactive Systems Analysis (SPSA) and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) to identify potential risks and implement preventive measures.
• Approve stage wise quality inspection & testing plans and ensure adherence to set quality standards.
• Coach own team, conceptualize various initiatives to reduce Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ) across all plants.
• Review manufacturing drawing, specification/codes and ensure preparation of inspection checklist / protocols / Inspection & Test Plans (ITP) / Manufacturing Quality Plans (MQP) to ensure voice of customers is captured.
• Develop and implement robust quality systems and processes to maintain high-quality standards at shop floor, ensuring compliance with industry standards as ISO, OHSAS etc. & regulations.
• Give inputs in preparation of supplier quality manuals and review inspection systems to ensure consistent quality standards.
• Create inspection plans to monitor and control the quality of incoming materials and finished products.
• Champion the organizations values within the team, encouraging a collaborative and innovative work environment.
• Instill a culture of continuous development and high performance within own team.
• Participate in recruitment activities & ensure retention / engagement of own team.

Preferred candidate profile

18+ years of experience with exposure in leading quality assurance & control in manufacturing industry.

Prior experience of institutionalizing quality systems such as TQM, TPM, & familiarity with OHSAS
