Job summary

Walmart Global Tech India is seeking an experienced SAP ABAP S/4HANA Developer to design, develop, and support SAP applications and cloud-enabled solutions. You will work across ABAP OO, CDS, BAPIs, BAdIs, and Fiori integrations in a OpenStack-enabled environment.

Based in Chennai, you will join CTS and collaborate with basis and infrastructure teams to optimize performance, migrate to S/4HANA, and implement DevOps practices using gCTS, abapGit, Jenkins, and GitHub Actions.

Qualifications

• 7+ years SAP ABAP development experience.
• 3+ years S/4HANA development experience.
• 2+ years CDS Views, OData, RAP, and integrations.
• 2+ years ABAP OO development.
• Exposure to SAP Fiori/UI5 and OpenStack/cloud infrastructure.
• Experience with SAP PI/PO, SAP Integration Suite, or similar middleware technologies.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and support SAP ABAP applications, enhancements, integrations, and cloud-enabled solutions.
• Build scalable ABAP programs, reports, enhancements, BAPIs, BAdIs, user exits, CDS Views, AMDPs, RAP apps, and OData services.
• Develop using ABAP OO, S/4HANA VDM, CDS annotations, and SAP Fiori integration.
• Design and support system integrations using IDocs, RFCs, APIs, SAP PI/PO, SAP Integration Suite, SAP BTP.
• Implement and optimize SAP forms (Adobe Forms, SmartForms, SAPScript) and reporting (ALV).
• Analyze and improve performance with ABAP tuning and SQL optimization.
• Support S/4HANA migration and ECC-to-S/4 conversions.
• Collaborate with Basis and infra teams for OpenStack-hosted landscapes (HA/DR, environment management).
• Participate in DevOps practices using gCTS, abapGit, Jenkins/GitHub Actions, ATC, and automated testing.
• Conduct code reviews and unit testing per SAP development standards.

What you will do

• Seeking an experienced SAP ABAP S/4HANA Developer to design, develop, and support SAP applications, enhancements, integrations, and cloud-enabled solutions. The role requires strong expertise in modern ABAP development, S/4HANA technologies, SAP integrations, and exposure to OpenStack-based infrastructure environments.
• Develop and maintain ABAP programs, reports, enhancements, BAPIs, BAdIs, user exits, CDS Views, AMDPs, RAP applications, and OData services.
• Build scalable solutions using ABAP OO, S/4HANA Virtual Data Models (VDM), CDS annotations, and SAP Fiori integration.
• Design and support system integrations using IDocs, RFCs, APIs, SAP PI/PO, SAP Integration Suite, and SAP BTP.
• Implement and optimize SAP forms (Adobe Forms, SmartForms, SAPScript) and reporting solutions (ALV).
• Analyze and improve application performance using ABAP tuning and SQL optimization techniques.
• Support S/4HANA migration and simplification initiatives, including ECC-to-S/4 conversion activities.
• Collaborate with Basis and infrastructure teams to support SAP landscapes hosted on OpenStack, including HA/DR, system copies, and environment management.
• Participate in DevOps practices using gCTS, abapGit, Jenkins/GitHub Actions, ATC, and automated testing.
• Conduct code reviews, unit testing, and ensure adherence to SAP development standards.

What you will bring

• Required Experience 7+ years of SAP ABAP development experience.
• 3+ years of S/4HANA development experience.
• 2+ years working with CDS Views, OData, RAP, and integrations.
• 2+ years of ABAP OO development.
• Exposure to SAP Fiori/UI5 and OpenStack/cloud infrastructure.
• Experience with SAP PI/PO, SAP Integration Suite, or similar middleware technologies.

Minimum Qualifications

• Option 1: Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 3 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
