Job summary

PwC in India seeks an experienced SAP Ariba Upstream Consultant to lead the design, implementation and maintenance of upstream modules and related integrations. You will work with procurement and IT teams to map processes, configure CLM templates, and optimize supplier workflows.

With 4+ years of hands-on experience, you will drive testing cycles, reporting, and production support while collaborating across multi-disciplinary teams to deliver client value and continuous improvements.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of hands-on functional experience with SAP Ariba implementations or AMS.
• Minimum of 1-2 end-to-end lifecycle implementations of Ariba Upstream modules.
• Strong knowledge of sourcing, contracts, and supplier workflows.

Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled SAP Ariba Upstream Consultant with 4+ years of experience to join our growing IT/Procurement team. In this role, you will lead the end-to-end design, implementation, template maintenance, and enhancement of our SAP Ariba Upstream modules. The ideal candidate possesses deep functional knowledge of strategic sourcing, contract management, and supplier relationship workflows. You will collaborate closely with internal procurement stakeholders and technical teams to map processes, optimize configuration, and manage ERP integrations.

Responsibilities

Module Configuration & Maintenance

• Sourcing: Configure and manage sourcing event templates, RFx (RFI, RFP, RFQ), and reverse auctions.
• Contracts: Design, update, and maintain Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) templates, clauses, and workspaces.
• Supplier Management: Oversee and configure Supplier Lifecycle & Performance (SLP) and Supplier Information & Performance Management (SIPM).
• Workflows: Build and manage approval process configurations for all upstream modules.

Integration & Data Management

• ERP Middleware: Collaborate on data mapping between Ariba and SAP ECC or S/4HANA using Cloud Integration Gateway (CIG) / SAP Integration Suite.
• Data Synch: Monitor and troubleshoot master data replication and transaction tracker errors.
• Supplier Network: Assist vendors with registration, onboarding, and qualification via the Ariba Network.

Business Analysis & Support

• Requirement Gathering: Lead workshops to translate business sourcing logic into operational system designs.
• Testing Execution: Create test scripts and lead Unit Testing, Integration Testing, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
• Production Support: Provide Level 2 and Level 3 functional troubleshooting for user lifecycle issues.
• Analytics: Pull, customize, and deliver strategic executive-level reports within the Ariba reporting engine.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Experience

• 4+ years of hands-on functional experience with SAP Ariba implementations or application management support (AMS).
• Minimum of 1-2 end-to-end lifecycle implementations of Ariba Upstream modules.

Technical Knowledge

• Ariba Suite: Deep expertise in Ariba Sourcing, Contracts, and SLP.
• SAP MM Integration: Strong foundation in core SAP Material Management (MM) concepts like purchasing and vendor master data.
• CIG Middleware: Practical experience managing integration flows and resolving payload errors via SAP CIG.

Soft Skills

• Strong client-facing skills to bridge communication between IT and business users.
• Adaptability to work in Agile or DevOps-led team frameworks.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications
