Job summary
PwC in Bangalore is seeking a Sr Associate Data Engineer with strong Java and Scala experience to design and deliver scalable data solutions across the full stack, from APIs to deployment. You will work in Data, Analytics & AI to enable strategic insights for clients and leverage modern analytics techniques.

Qualifications

- Strong experience with Core Java, Java RESTful APIs, Gradle/Maven, Spring, Spring Boot.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable, robust solutions across all layers including APIs, logic, performance, persistence, tests, CI/CD, and IaC.
- Mentor team members and produce high-quality code following best practices.
- Participate in agile ceremonies and drive team goals.
- Analyze user requirements and envision system features.
- Collaborate with a global technologist and business user team.
- Participate in all SDLC phases from analysis to deployment.

We’re looking for a strong Java + scala Data Engineer with solid hands-on experience in design and implement high-quality scalable and robust technical solutions across all layers of application. The role demands deep comfort with java and its ecosystem.
- Design and implement high-quality scalable and robust technical solutions across all layers of application development, including APIs, application logic, performance, reliability, persistence, tests, CI/CD, and IaC.
- Mentor less experienced team members, led by example, and produce high quality code, while adhering to development best practices.
- Participating in our agile ceremonies and actively driving towards the team’s goals.
- Analyze user requirements, envision system features and functionality.
- Working collaboratively with a global team of technologists and business users.
- Participate in all aspects of SDLC (analysis, design, coding, testing, implementation, and deployment)
- Leading with ideas and innovation.
- Managing communication and partnering with our end users to design solutions.
- At least 4 years' relevant experience (4-8 years of total experience) with skills using Core Java, Java Restful APIs, Gradle/Maven, Spring, Spring Boot, and related frameworks.
- Solid understanding and experience with Object-Oriented design and development
- Solid understanding and experience with Microservices architecture and design
- Experience in building server-side applications using J2EE Technologies.
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Experience in building Cloud or Cloud ready applications.
- Experience with building highly scalable, secure, and fault tolerant microservices.
- Proficient with database technologies with complex SQL queries (preferably PostgreSQL / MS SQL Server / DB2), including modelling and performance tuning.
- Highly proficient working in Linux environments.
- Experience building solutions in Python / Perl and Unix shell such as Bash.
- Experience with DevOps
- Competency with source control (preferably Git) and Continuous Integration tools such as Jenkins.
- Practiced understanding of Agile development methodologies & understanding of DevOps Integration
