Job summary

Kyndryl Inc. in Bangalore invites an experienced IMS DB2 COBOL Developer to join our mainframe modernization efforts. You will design, build and maintain high-volume business logic while refactoring legacy code for cloud and mobile integration with core data.

You will work on performance optimization, debugging complex systems, and bridging legacy mainframe processes with modern services, leveraging microservices patterns, containers, and REST interfaces to enable scalable solutions.

Qualifications

• Experience working as a software engineer on complex software projects.
• Excellent coding skills and solid development experience (Java, Python, .Net etc.) with debugging and problem-solving skills.
• Software development methodologies, with demonstrated experience developing scalable and robust software.
• Experienced in relational and NoSQL databases, data mapping, XML/JSON, REST-based web services.
• Knowledge of architecture design - Microservices architecture, containers (Docker & k8s), messaging queues.
• Deep understanding of OOP and design patterns.

• Maintain Performance: Prevent decay and find efficiencies: Monitor the architecture and identify opportunities to optimize code to maintain and enhance mainframe performance.
• Debug and Test: Find and fix: Debug, troubleshoot, and analyze complex system interactions to keep mission-critical applications running.
• Develop for the Future: Bridge the gap: As an instrumental player in modernization, you’ll extract business logic from legacy systems for migration or integration with cloud-based services.
