Job summary

Tekskills Inc. seeks an experienced lab engineer with a Diploma in Mechanical/Mechatronics for battery pack assembly and testing. The role involves managing lab tools, calibrations, safety guidelines, and procurement in collaboration with the team.

Candidates should have 4–6 years in automotive or industrial applications and familiarity with CAD, circuit drawings, soldering, and 2D drawings. Prior experience with Li-Ion battery testing is a plus.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Mechanical or Mechatronics from a recognized institute.
• Preferable BE after Diploma as an added qualification.
• 4–6 years of relevant automotive/industrial experience.

Responsibilities

• Create battery pack assemblies and support testing activity.
• Manage lab tools, and establish safety guidelines and lab procedures.
• Coordinate calibration and procurement of lab consumables and tools.
• Procure tools for prototype making, assembly and testing in discussion with the team.
• Read basic circuit drawings and monitor battery pack voltage and wiring harnesses.
• Perform PCB soldering, with microscope for small components replacement.
• Create 2D drawings and prepare test plans and test reports.

Job Summary

Diploma in Mechanical or Mechatronics, experience in Tool Making, Jig, Part inspection, component procurement, inventory management, Equipment maintenance and calibration.

Experience in automotive / industrial application.

Qualification guidelines

Education :

• Mechanical/Mechatronics diploma from NTTF or GTTC. (Preferable B.E after Diploma)

EXPERIENCE:

• 4 to 6 Years of relevant experience in Automotive or Industrial Application

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for creating battery pack assemblies, support testing activity.
• Responsible for managing lab tools, creating and updating safety guidelines, lab procedures etc.
• Manage lab tool calibration activity, should take responsibility in buying consumables items for lab in discussion with structure and circuit team members.
• Should take responsibility in buying lab tools required for battery pack prototype making, assembly and testing activity in discussing with the team.
• Knowledge of CAD modelling, soldering, basic circuit drawing reading, battery pack voltage monitoring, wiring harness preparation and crimping.
• Utilize microscope and soldering equipment to add or remove small components on printed circuit boards, soldering of wires, and PCB repair.
• Knowledge of making 2D drawings.
• Prepare test plans, test cases and testing of battery components to confirm the requirements.
• Prepare detailed test report and summary of tests conducted.

Skillsets:

• Experience in Equipment maintenance and support for calibration
• Experience in preparing the SOP's, Work Instructions, Safety guidelines, Do's & Don'ts with respect to the Machine/Instrument.
• Experience in lab instruments inspection.
• Experience in vendor development/coordinating for procuring the lab related items.
• Experience in SolidWorks CAD Software. (added advantage)
• Experience working on plastic, sheet metal, die casting components. (e.g. Busbar, housing, elastomers)
• Knowledge of material properties for sheet metal, plastic and die casting. (added advantage)
• Experience in 2D drawing.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Experience in validation testing. (added advantage)
• Experience in Li-Ion Battery test and regulatory standards ISO, IEC, UN (added advantage)
• Hands-on experience with electronic testing and circuitry (added advantage)
• Familiar with power supplies, oscilloscopes and DVMs (added advantage)
