About the Indian Lawyers Association (ILA):

The Indian Lawyers Association (ILA) is a non-political, national network of legal professionals dedicated to promoting knowledge sharing, professional development, and community leadership within India’s legal fraternity. With chapters across the country, ILA serves as a platform for lawyers, academicians, and students to connect, collaborate, and contribute to the advancement of the legal profession.

About the Role:

ILA is looking for a passionate legal professional to lead the Rajkot Chapter as its Chapter President. This is a voluntary, non-political, non-monetary leadership role, offering you the autonomy to initiate and shape your city’s chapter while enjoying the prestige and network that come with being part of ILA’s national ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Build and strengthen the ILA Rajkot Chapter — bring together local lawyers, academicians and law students to form a vibrant chapter community.
  • Plan, organise and host local events (seminars, webinars, workshops, networking sessions) aligning with ILA’s vision of professional development and legal reform.
  • Represent ILA in Rajkot’s legal ecosystem — build the chapter’s brand, liaise with local bar associations, law colleges, firms and the legal fraternity.
  • Appoint or motivate board members/volunteers locally to support chapter activities.
  • Ensure regular communication with ILA’s national team regarding chapter updates, progress and challenges.
  • Uphold ILA’s mission of integrity, professionalism, mentorship, promoting the rule of law, access to justice and ethical conduct.
Required Qualifications & Profile:
  • A law graduate (LL.B. or higher) practising or engaged with the legal community in Rajkot, with credible 4+ years of professional experience (advocacy, in‑house, academic or similar).
  • Demonstrated leadership, initiative and organisational / networking abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A genuine interest in community building, legal education, professional mentorship, the rule of law and access to justice.
  • Demonstrated active engagement and professional presence on LinkedIn is required.
  • Must be based in Rajkot or have strong ties / ability to actively engage locally.
