Job summary

Barclays is seeking a Cloud Data Engineer in Pune to lead the evolution of our data infrastructure and deployment pipelines. You will build scalable, secure data platforms and ensure reliable delivery of digital solutions across the business.

You will work with OpenShift/Kubernetes, AWS Databricks and data science teams to design pipelines, warehouses and lakes, and implement processing algorithms for large data volumes. A strong focus on security, governance and performance will be expected.

Qualifications

• Experience building and maintaining data pipelines.
• Designing data warehouses and data lakes with security in mind.
• Experience with data science collaboration and ML model deployment.
• Hands-on AWS with Databricks and analytics services.
• Knowledge of distributed computing and Hadoop ecosystem.

Job description

Join us as a Cloud Data Engineer, at Barclays, where you will spearhead the evolution of our infrastructure and deployment pipelines, driving innovation and operational excellence. You will harness cutting‑edge technology to build and manage robust, scalable and secure infrastructure, ensuring seamless delivery of our digital solutions.

To be successful as a Cloud Data Engineer, you should have experience with:

• Manage and support container platforms including OpenShift and Kubernetes environments.
• Build and maintenance of data architectures pipelines that enable the transfer and processing of durable, complete and consistent data.
• Design and implementation of data warehouse and data lakes that manage the appropriate data volumes and velocity and adhere to the required security measures.
• Development of processing and analysis algorithms fit for the intended data complexity and volumes.
• Collaboration with data scientist to build and deploy machine learning models.
• AWS hands on with Databricks, S3, EC2, Lambda, RDS, Glue, Athena, data pipelines, step function and knowledge of Analytical services.
• Experience of distributed computing architecture, Core Hadoop components (HDFS, Spark, Yarn, HIVE, Impala).

Purpose of the role

To build and maintain the systems that collect, store, process, and analyse data, such as data pipelines, data warehouses and data lakes to ensure that all data is accurate, accessible, and secure.
